Herman is going to be the best 8-4 averaging coach you’ve ever had

Well at least we didn't pay $75 million for a coach who's going to deliver the same to worse results

How do you know what Jimbo will deliver over the next 8.5 years ?

We did see Sumlin deliver higher results than Strong in a much more difficult conference.
And you paid more per year for 5-7 than we paid for 9-4

So are we talking about Strong or Herman? I'm confused.

I don't know what Jimbo will deliver over the next 8.5 years, but I do know that Malzahn and Mississippi State seem to have his number.

How do you know what Herman will deliver over the next 5 or so years?

It’s very likely 8-4 based on his past performance

Fisher has a much more successful past to take data from

If the sec could do it all over again, would you rather take Texas over Texas A&M?

LSU beats ATM 7 out of 8 times and gets no real credit for it.

Go 8-1 or 7-2 over Texas and forcing the national media converse about LSU crushing a once proud program

I’m going with the program that is worth a frick over the one that got some ink for a drunk heisman winner.

A&M was clearly the better choice.

Since Texas A&M joined our (tougher) league, they've won 62 games.

Texas has won 53 in that span.

Texas A&M fans/graduates are much better overall people than UT folks.

Texas is a disco cowboy version of Georgia. The arrogance of Alabama with the trophy case of Tennessee. They haven't been the better program than A&M in years- but they make sure to tell everyone repeatedly that they are until the force feeding has brainwashed you into believing it. The records speak for themselves since realignment. Aggy has elevated their game because they've had to. Texas has wallowed in their own mediocrity because they've surrounded themselves with mediocrity.

From a different school? So by that logic, wouldn't you need to factor in Tom's success at U of H. I seem to remember him winning a very big game in a NY6 bowl against FSU, but I can't for the life of me remember who FSU's coach was at the time...

It seems very likely based on Fisher's past performance at his current school that he'll also be losing at least 4 games per season and no less than 3 every year to SEC west opponents. For sure Auburn.

It seems likely based on Herman's past performance at his current school that he'll be competing for conference championships and NY6 bowl game appearances, and even win some of them.

And the SEC went 1-3 against the slap dick conference in bowl season last year? That's unfortunate.

the SEC

The eastern cellar dwellers were narrowly defeated by 2 big 12 teams, yes. Vanderbilt and Missouri isn't exactly what comes to mind when anyone thinks "SEC Football"

There are two competitive teams in the big 12. One big 12 team has won the national title in the last 15 years. 4 have done it from our league. Arguing that you don't play in a slap dick conference is not the hill you want to die on

So what you're referring to is predicting the future. I didn't do that. I just pointed out that Little 'ol A&M has won 9 more games than big bad Texas since conference realignment.

Yet here you are, disco cowboy, scoffing at the idea that Texas isn't among the national elite. It brings me great joy to know that the University of Alabama football program put Texas back in their place years ago. You're all hat and no cattle, as they say where you're from

When choosing a long term commitment the future would be a primary consideration.

Or did you take a small sample size inclusive of FCS opponents to come to your conclusion?

That Bama degree on full display.. or would that be Walmart training on display?

Yes, and Baylor and Oklahoma State were both 6-6 last year... It's not as if they got the Big 12's best either.

They sure did! And then Texas beat the SEC's second best team in the Sugar Bowl.

So I guess Oklahoma State was better than them too?
