On a serious note, if you are a true Texas fan, do you really believe anything that comes out of Chip Brown's postings? I was with a real live fan a few weeks ago - granted he was close to my age - and I asked if he knew who Chip Brown was. Lets say his response was interesting.

Listen, I'm not interested in battling you over finances, as I've made my case several times. I think people on here are sick of it.
But more to the point, when UT Austin entertained the Pac-10 offer, we leveraged that into a consolidated voting bloc with the "other" Big 12 schools who would've been left scrambling if the conference dissolved, and got the concessions we wanted, that being single-school networks.
I think when aggy and Missouri knew they'd be virtually outvoted by TEXAS 8-2 on anything and everything, that became the final straw. UT Austin tried to ameliorate the situation by going equal share on the other tiers, but it was too little, too late.

Possibly the greatest thread ever.
In 12' UK has just won the Natty in NOLA and some internet pro found a live link to the UKPD or LFUCG PoPo scanner. I think the post was going well as she had a good voice but somewhere in the thread something like "naked man with propane tank" came across the police scanner and it just took off from there. I think it got so much play it wound up as Top 10 trending in the early days of Twitter (to be fair, I think Cal had like 1 million followers so that probably goosed the spike)
I had lurked TD awhile but I think it was that post that hooked me in to posting here.

I don't think it was lying as much as outmaneuvering, and you couldn't take the embarrassment any longer (and needed money).

Funny, the commissioner of the pac 12 called it lying
Something to the effect of Dodd’s telling Larry Scott for months that Texas A&M was 100% in on leaving with texas when in fact that was fabricated. A point that came to light when Scott called A&M directly and found out Dodd’s had been lying to everyone
But each to his own I guess

He was also lying about the LHN deal he had been working on. Scott didn't know about that, which would have immediately torpedoed a Pac Network deal.
