Great coach, maybe the best in college football today.
Or Not. The best Coaches can win in double digits fairly consistantly. This is Saban's 3rd double digit season in 13 years as a Head Coach.

So this is what we base being a good coach on? Completely ignoring the state of the programs prior to his arrival?

Yeah, & Saban the GOD of coaching, would never lose to UAB or UL(M). Oh..

Wins & Losses. Exactly right.

Who would you hire to resurrect a college football program, Miles or Saban?

That's certainly one way of assessing his skills. Another is to take into consideration how he turns programs around and makes them NC contenders. No one thought he would have Bama 12-0 and in the SEC championship game in two years and there he was last night.

Works the same way for Miles. Did you have him going 11-2, 11-2 & 12-2 - 2 SEC West Titles & SEC Championship & National Championship in his first 3 years?

Not so much the titles because there are so many factors that can't be controlled just to get to those games. But I did expect him to have those types of records with the talent available. In fact I'm disappointed we lost to two unranked teams last year.

Please answer this question...

I'm a Bama fan, and I disagree with the entire context of this thread. Here you are showing your bitterness by laughing and pointing out our loss to Florida. But you conveniently left out the fact that the loss was in the SEC Championship Game, which is played between the two Conference Division Champions. So Please. I would expect that type of venom to be spewed by an aubie, but it doesn't sound very good coming from anyone not born in a barn.
I'm not going to continue this by talking smack, because that's just not who I am. This season has gone well for some teams, not so much for others. We may not be headed to the NC title game, but we are most likely headed to the Sugar Bowl. We wish you luck in whichever Bowl you are chosen to play.
That said, it is what it is, so let's all take what we have and make the best of it, aight?

Yeah...I bet you did. As LSU has has had so many 11 & 12 win seasons & so many NC's. Lord Saban didn't even come close.

You want to talk about being disappointed, but I'll tell you the names of some other coaches that have dropped the same amount of games in recent memory with a fully loaded team:
- Mark Richt
- Urban Meyer
- Nick Saban (LSU other than the 2003 championship season)
- Mack Brown
- Bob Stoops
- Frank Beamer
That's pretty good company IMO
So wilfont tell me this, are you honestly saying you are disappointed about last season? We won the crystal for frick's sakes

Miles. Better recruiter IMO. That's how programs are "Built", along with hiring good assistants, Crowton & Pelini, 2 of the best we've had at LSU.
