Wil Clark should be there. Palmeiro would be there if not for steroids

Clark didn't have the longevity.
Papelbon has about as good of chance as any reliever sans Mariano Rivera. He'll be top 15 all-time in saves at the end of this year -- with the chance to move #8 or #9 with another consistent year next year. He tacks one more onto that and he's fighting for #6 with Eckersley. Among those ahead of him, only Rivera and Wagner have superior career WHIPs, he's 6th in BAA, 3rd in Win%, 3rd in OBPagainst, 3rd in K/9, 3rd in BB/9, 5th in h/9, 1st in k/9.

I read this weekend that Auburn is the only SEC school with HoF'ers in each of the Big Three sports:
Frank Gatski - NFL HoF
Charles Barkley - Basketball HoF
Frank Thomas - Baseball HoF
C.M Newton was inducted in 2000 as a coach.

Doubt it. Very good, far from dominating.

Another example of why college baseball is irrelevant.

HOFers in all three HoF's
Auburn - MLB, NBA, NFL
Rest of SEC...not.
BIG 1.

I can think of a couple who were committed to SCAR but never enrolled beginning with Wade Boggs.
Is he in yet?

Shouldn't Alabama have two. Mel Allen, didn't play but was one of the greatest broadcasters of all time.

So you're saying the SEC had only one player in the Hall? Interesting.
When Sewell played Alabama was not in the SEC.

Yeah, I think people are overestimating HOF standards a bit.
In the not-so-distant past, you had to dominate with the wow factor. I think the standards have evolved. Players are judged more on the totality of their career, and, more importantly, their character. Nice guys who play the game for a long time "the right way" and are friendly with the media have a better shot now. Think guys like Biggio, Hudson, etc.

Also I think the fact he was with the Rockies his whole career will help. I would think they want someone from the expansion teams so they're represented
And the Coors Field factor will hurt him.

David Price projects to the Hall of Fame at this point in his career. Long ways to go, though.

I think Todd Helton is the only SEC sure thing
