Let’s get this straight about the “LA Gov” meddling in LSU football

For all of the uninformed, here is why the Gov was “involved” in the discussions to let Kelly go.

At present, and to no fault of LSU nor the Gov., LSU currently does not have a President in place. The former President, Tate, took a job elsewhere. Thus, there has been a search for a new President of the University.

At the beginning of this search there was no indication that LSU football would tailspin, vomit on itself, and necessitate the firing for a new HC.

FF to Saturday/Sunday. The AD/Boosters, Board of Supervisors of LSU consulted and decided a change at the position of HC was needed.

Because there is NO president in place, the AD and BOS had to consult with the Governor and let him know their plan and get input - as he is the de facto President until a new one is hired.

The hierarchy of these positions are as follows


Governor

Board of Supervisors (appointed by Gov. once their terms expire)

President

Athletic Director.




But, please go ahead and continue the uneducated national media narrative that the Governor of LA is picking the new HC of LSU FB; And that new coach would be crazy to come here because the governor will tell them how to do their job.
