What do you consider "fail" when talking about Kansas? They have not won more than 3 games since 2009 and since 2010 the most wins they had in a season has been 3, which they finished with 3 times (this year they have 3 wins, and with Oklahoma and Texas left to play its safe to say they will finish with 3 wins this year).
I think Miles can at least build an average 6-6 type program out of them. A team who wins the games they are suppose to with an win over a ranked opponent here and there. They will not be scoring 40+ points a game, which is common in the Big 12, they will be built more like TCU. At least that's what I think.

Agreed, so if he makes a low level bowl game every few years is that ok? I think maybe he can do that, if he’s given some time.
Problem is he’s a couple years from even getting to that level, if he even can which I highly doubt, and he’s already 65.

This is stupid.
The great thing is he will have no pressure. So if he has any success whatsoever it will be an accomplishment and if he does not then it is expected.
Hopefully he just gets them some more wins because that’s a bad program.
He has a very special back there to feature though.
