I thought Ol Miss would call time out and leave enough time for a re-kick if something went wrong. Looks to me like both teams played chicken with the clock thinking that the other side would call the time out..

it was 4th down.
Sounds like less was torn on whether to ice the kicker or not. So ideally he would have held the TO until after ole miss called the TO, keeping the kicker on the field longer. He said today that he regrets thinking that. I don't think it cost us the game.

So what you are saying is that we would have drove down and kicked a FG with 20 seconds left on the clock. Then beat Ole Miss in OT or better yet maybe we would have just scored the TD and called it a day. 
I will say that I don't understand his, "caught like a deer in the headlights", with this clock management.

As a Bama fan, I wish y'all would get rid of Miles. He develops talent as well ANYONE in the country. Fire him, or send him to Texas please!

laughing....hey, I was at the game. Even if he called timeout with 24 seconds left and after the Ole Miss FG, we come back and win the game, we should have taken a L in the record book. They outplayed us, outhit us, outhustled us, they deserve to win the game. There is no reason to look for excuses and who to blame, LSU lost, Ole Miss won and now time to move onto the next week.
