I am very fond of the one-shot drama that is college football.
I like college basketball, but I watch very little regular season college basketball these days. Too much other stuff to occupy my time. However, I don't think there is a workable formula to make the college basketball regular season as intense and meaningful as college football.

Well I would say that a debateable view that is pervasive in college athletics is that it is even feasible to crown a national champ at one grand level.
I believe FBS is too big, but everyone wants a shot at the big crown even if they aren't a big boy.
No one is content having different champions for different levels/division, everyone's trying to put an elephant through a mouse hole and the regular season drama is the #1 casualty because of bracket creeping.
