As for him getting burned, it seems to be ok for a draw play but that won't be affective against a DE who's fast enough to recover. It buys time but could potentially put him out of position to continue a play if needed.

That is one of the most violent moves I have ever seen in any level of football. DE's that get fooled by that must feel completely demoralized for the rest of the game.
