What has Kirby Smart have to complain about? His team played on the road just four times out of their 12 regular season games. They weren't "put on the road all year long", as Kirby whined. Even the SEC championship game Was played in Georgia, as always. Not an unfair advantage for the Bulldogs, I guess. Even though he had road trips to Kentucky, Alabama and Mississippi this year, all three played in Athens in 2023. Kirby could live with that. SEC game sites are alternated yearly. By the way, the Bulldogs have played Alabama in four of the last five years -- two in Athlens and two in Tuscaloosa. Bama won all four. I'm no big fan of the SEC office but Kirby Smart's cheap shot at Greg Sankey made Kirby look petulant, foolish -- and Wrong!
Kirby has an edge about him that I like. It was a monstrous schedule.
In Sankey's defense, it didn't look as bad as it ended up being when it was first scheduled, though it was still daunting. So many of you on here thought it would be our demise as we were only good because of the weak east. And that was coming off of a season where we won back to back titles and rarely played a close game. Often times, shredding teams many of our "naysayers" struggled with.

I don't know about home and away, because I've never considered it that important of a factor.
Nah. Every team should play on the road every week. Doesn't matter.

In What specific years did bama play a similar schedule?
I'm not going back and looking at preseason rankings for all those season or trying to remember what teams were the highly ranked teams to start the year etc.
I mean take 2015 for example. Do I treat Georgia as the big time favorites going in the game? Do I treat them as the 10-3 team they finished as? Do I treat them as the 10-3 team from 2014?
And do we use the same standard for Ole Miss? Do we use the 10-3 record they finished with in 2015, or the 2014 9-4 team? I don't know what they were preseason, ranked I'm guessing since Saban didn't have unranked losses.
Played Texas A&M @ Texas A&M. Do we treat them as the undefeated highly ranked team going into the game, or do we treat them as the 9-5 team they finished? The 8-5 previous year?
Played LSU @ home, where they oddly win most often. Do we treat them as the undefeated highly ranked team they were going into the game, the 9-3 record they finished with(10-3 really since it was FCS hurricane game missing), or as an 8-5 team they finished in 2014?
Played @ Miss St. 9-4 in 2015, Ranked 2 loss team going into the game or the 10-3 team from 2014?
Of course, then Auburn, who is hit or miss but was pretty miss in 2014 going 8-5 after the 2013 NC attempt. So they don't really apply here. But they are strong other years where some of these teams aren't.
Arkansas was a more common quality opponent until Bobby fell off his bike and John L Smith was eating mushrooms while Les Miles was eating grass.
I can probably do the same thing in other years. I just picked this one because Alabama won a national championship that year and we beat the frick outta Georgia @ Georgia.

LOL y’all were favored over OSU by ten and needed a missed field goal to hang on

Ok, but the burden is on you to prove your point.

I provided both the preseason and actual season ranks. Both were about the same in difficulty.
Uga 2015 started at 9, fell out in week 6, and did not finish top 25 in the AP poll. We fired our coach at the end of that season.
Obviously, this team isn’t close to the quality of the 4 uga 2024 faced. Who do you think is from 2015? Or any other years?

But most years Alabama played that type of schedule. Recently not so much since the West has gotten weaker, but in the 2010's it was most years.
I think one year the SEC West had like 4 or 5 ranked teams alone.
Come on now. The west was so tough because of Bama. I doubt that most years you had to play your three toughest games on the road against top 15 teams.

Copy. To be honest, I never looked at the 2023 records of those on our schedule. I was just excited to see TX in the SEC and didn’t care. Yes, we got a very favorable schedule and Georgia had a tough one, but it looks like yall still came out on top in the end. Props to yall and I hope we don’t face you for a third time, if we do get that far.

Why the hell does everyone think that playing in Atlanta or at GA Tech is the same as playing in Athens? That's like saying Alabama playing at Auburn is a home game because it's still in the state of Alabama. It's dumb as shite to think that.

Yeah, it's hard when Georgia plays 2 3 loss teams on the road, but not when Alabama does it.
3 loss Georgia wasn't shite...because Alabama pushed your shite in so badly.
I named like 4 or 5 ranked teams Alabama played that year.
frick off clown.

What part of “rarely played a close game” do you not understand?

Depends on how good the teams are.
List the final ranks of the top 4 sec opponents for bama 2015, and then compare to what uga was given (don’t forget this part of it).

Go ahead. Like I said, I'm not spending the time to do all that shite for you.
You can think what you want to, you just look stupid claiming there is some SEC conspiracy against you.

Why? I think you know they aren’t comparable.
