You will not beat both LSU and Bama next year. Probably neither. Both will still have excellent defense, as good or better offense with improved QB play. Arkansas still doesn't have enough defensive talent to win the SEC, and Wilson isn't Cam.

We are starting to recruit better. With Mizzou and aTm joining the conference that will help us even more in the coming years. We are going to have our first top 10(Possible top 5 Finish) in my lifetime so we are very optimistic that Petrino will be able to get us over the hump and to the Natty.

Will Arkansas play in the national title next year? No. Will they be in the hunt/discussion? Absolutely.

I'll definitely give him Auburn didn't have a NC caliber defense, but Arkansas also won't have an offense with Cam Newton or anyone near his caliber in it. Also, Auburn's defense stepped up when their offense didn't - see the NC game, the LSU game, the MSU game from that year. What happened when Arkansas' offense sputtered this year? 38-14 and 41-17.

I'm not the only one that will not have Arkansas in the NC discussion, it will be everyone outside of the Arkansas fanbase.

Defensive scheme is not the only thing you need. Arkansas needs better defensive players, period.
I remember when all the piggy fans this last off-season were saying how improved the defense would be this year and how they had more All-SEC players preseason than a team with a supposed "Great" defense in LSU. Remember when we told all of you how worthless these pre-season lists were because they can only tell about guys coming back which you had a lot of on defense? Didn't want to hear it...now how about your post-season viewpoint?

Yes and no. We have gotten or been in the hunt for every recruit we have been after and we have had to recruit nationwide. For Arkansas that is very good.
We don't have the talent level that Louisiana has in Arkansas and as Gus said "At LSU they can go on their back porch and pull in talent"

Being in the hunt means nothing if you cant get these guys. You guys have 2 4-star commits right now, that's not going to cut it. Petrino pulled in a good class in 2009, since then, not so much. If he did it in 2009, he should be able to do it again, but it just hasn't happened.

So no comment on all the pig fans beating their chest about pre-season all sec list on defense to now? I wonder why...
And yeah, you didn't look super close when you played Bama or LSU this year. The 2 teams actually in the NCG.

Sounds like crying to me. Nobody has EVER said Arkansas has talent level of any other southeastern state. So why are you crying about it?
Petrino didn't use this as an excuse when in 2009 he signed NINE 4 or 5 star players. Since then he has signed (2010/2011) and currently has commits from NINE 4 or 5 star players. So almost 3 complete classes later and he has merely matched what he did in 2009 in terms of 4/5 star players.

Our "best" defensive player (The only 5*) was a huge bust that doesn't know how to cover or tackle.
