I was wondering the same thing. I know we had a couple accidental shooting injuries, but I believe they were in other parts of the city. No murders. All in all sounds like a good night for New Orleans

That would be a "small percentage", considering UK has about 30,000 undergrads.

Fun Facts about the University of Kentucky

In Fall 2011, 28,094 students were enrolled at UK.

Undergraduate students at UK made up 72% of the total student body. 20,228

I think the point is that there were too many couch fires if you had 20,000, 30,000, or 300,000 undergraduates.

Exactly. Sure it was "only two streets", but that's two more streets of rioting than any other SEC school has ever done.

Easy, Ole Miss fan. We still don't know what Ole Miss would do in such a situation and we're not likely to ever find out.

Well if we ever burn couches and vehicles then ill come here and eat crow. But otherwise that argument is irrelevant and a weak cop out to rationalize some very poor decisions by some Kentucky students.

I'm already on record here several times as saying they should be expelled and prosecuted, which the admin is working on right now.

We can address that issue when and if they riot. SEC has titles in the big 3 at the NCAA.

SC in baseball: no riot.
Bama in football: no riot.
UK in basketball: riot.

Didn't your players get into a huge brawl earlier in the season?

Or are you one of those douche bags that likes to hide his actual school so no one can say anything about it?

How about we just blame the whole thing on Kentucky GDIs and everyone can be happy.

I've already done that. But the streets that it mostly happened on are GDI central.

What would happen if Arkansas won the bcsncg?

I was on Dickson Street in Fayetteville the night we won the basketball title in '94. LOTS of hugging, cheering, singing the fight song. High fives. Absolutely no fires. No riots. No cars turned over. Just a huge all-night party. lots of fun.

Did you just compare a fight between 2 teams to rioting and burning the possessions of other people?

Here is where they are similar. We had just hammered UC. You just won the national championship. Both post-game activities took away from what should have been the focus of the sporting event. Both events gave their schools a black-eye.

For what it is worth, I didn't excuse or defend the guys that were involved. I didn't tell other schools that they probably would have done the same thing in the same situation. I didn't gloss over the problems by pointing out what a small percentage of the student body was involved in the brawl.
