As for WKU / Bowling Green it is a perfectly nice town. Not saying I want to live there but folks I have met from there have always been nice and Houchens is down there which seems to be a pretty solid outfit to work for.
I love it down here. I've been all over the state of Kentucky and several big cities around the united states and still think Bowling Green is one of the best around.

Yah guys. Nobody I have ever met with a UK shirt acts like an elitist D bag.... I graduated in 2010. If anything we have to deal with elitist D bags hating on UK in the work place/rec. life.
I have been to UK's last two final fours(houston and NOLA) and it is like one HUGE party where UK fans buy each other shots and start C A T S chants.
We outnumbered and out partied those Kansas Gayhawks like 15:1 on Bourbon street last year. WHen they started a "rock Chalk" chant my buddies and I instantly started a C A T S chant and the entire street joined in! It was epic.
