Is that even legal? Isn't firing someone for being southern sort of like racial profiling?

Where does it say he got fired for being Southern?

Not saying I agree with the decision and I'm well over the political correctness bullshite in our country. But much in the same way that he has a right to fly his flag on the back of his truck, his employer has a right to fire him if he does not comply and remove it before arriving onto company property.

I get it, I'm convinced. Still doesn't seem right though

I've got a feeling it wouldn't work both ways

He was fired since he wouldn't remove it off of their property. I'm supporting the business on this. They make the rules. It's the same reason I can't have a rebel flag signature pic on Tigerdroppings. It's the same reason I couldn't wear a rebel flag t-shirt in high school.

So I can fire people for Obama stickers on their cars and playing rap music?

HOT DAMN!

Yeah if we're being honest and I fired an employee for having a Lil Boosie flag flying on his Dodge Charger I would be a racist and hung out to dry. But it's the society we live in now so oh well. Gotta know how to work the system.

Not necessarily. The navy here at fort Gordon backed out of a volunteer opportunity at the James Brown arena because boosie was performing. Navy didn't want to associate themselves with him.

This phrase is so freaking stupid. Yeah...you're free to say what you want, just don't be angry when the police blow your brains out with a .45 after you have said it.

The whole freedom of speech thing was put into the Constitution by the Founding Fathers to PROTECT people from consequences resulting from their speech.

I can't imagine you're high enough on the totem pole wherever you work... So no.

Lowlife LSU fan telling an Alabama fan how disgusting he is. lol.

I fail to see how that's funny. English soccer hooligans have yet to sink to the depths that Alabama fans routinely do.

Alabama fans are absolutely, hands down, the worst fan base in the history of sports.

Period, end of discussion.

Consequences from the government. Not private citizens telling you to GFY.

Am I the only one who associates the flag with the Dukes of Hazzard? I NEVER think about the Civil War when I see it, unless that is the context in which I'm seeing it (someone talking about the CW and it comes up).

Not from consequences from your employer, it protects you from consequences from the government. It's amazing how many people bring up the constitution not knowing what the hell the constitution actually says

I don't really see Bama fans throwing bananas at players too often like in soccer. Might be wrong

The constitution only applies to government, not private businesses.

Even though liberals are trying to change that in general with forcing businesses to serve and do things, it won't be in the direction of this topic.

It's one thing for a business to fire someone for waving the Confederate flag around while he/she was at work, it's quite another for a business to fire someone because of something attached to private property.
