Like another post said, coaches for UAB and ULM should be the best of all time then. He is a good coach but far from the best.

I listened to his show today and Rome didn't say that. He remarked that if Saban beat Georgia, he would be as big as Bear Bryant at Bama. Rome never said Saban would be the greatest coach of all time.

You sound like a delusional ranter.

Thanks for clearing things up, that sounds more realistic.

Agreed.
The greatest (fill in blank) of all time. is a tired, over-used statement.

nobody can say he isnt a great coach.

Wayne begs to differ...

That being said, Saban's really good. He was a perfect fit for what LSU needed at the time. I don't think his personality would have been a long term fit here, though.

In the end, unless something changes, Saban seems destined to be a coach that has teams that are up and down, that will win the big one, lose the unexpected one, and play down to their opponent far too often. I'm not a huge fan of the Saban Rollercoaster ride.

I don't think that saban is the greatest head coach just because they can beat georgia. That statement sounds like nick gave him some Saban-Aid

If some of you had watched the beginning of his TV show, you'd see that the whole thing he was talking about was a joke. You could tell damn well he didn't mean a thing he said about Saban.
