According to our own players, yes. They ran stunts and did things they had not prepped for after watching game film on them. It confused our offensive line, which isn't very surprising considering there are 3 new starters.

Yeah, Bama just got blindsided by the defense. It's not like VT has had the same D Coordinator since '95 or anything.

After watching that game I was impressed. VT's D is solid Front to Back. Other than the anomaly of the Marshall game in which they put up 361 yards, VT has held everyone else to 200 or less total yards. I agree with OP. Name a defense that looks better all around. Don't go off stats or highlights. Rewatch the games.

The fact we're even debating it tells you that VT's Defense is getting attention. That front four, especially Hopkins, are amazing.
