My understanding is that there is no official reporting of any of these numbers and little oversight at the institutional or NCAA level. A kid can make whatever he/she can make and people can report whatever numbers they want, no matter how distant from reality they may be.
And having posted that, I'm not sure what this little pissing match is actually about.
The joke during last year's Superbowl is that Arch made more money than Purdy, despite not even being a starter in college. Is that something to brag about?
No shortage of people made fun of Jimbo's money, but at least he had the starting job.
