who is their starting QB and I assume he helped beat GA? Can him keep them undefeated?

Maty Mauk. Can he keep us undefeated? Anyone who says they know the answer to that is lying.

He's the heir apparent, and it has been assumed that he'll be taking over for Franklin next season. He pushed Franklin for the starting job in camp, but fell short.

He's no slouch, but he's also being thrown into the frying pan for the first time in his life. I have no idea how he'll react. He's skilled enough to play the position, but we'll find out together how ready he is for SEC defenses.

I thought he looked pretty solid this week in his limited time. You could tell they were protecting him with playcalls but he seemed decent at least

Back for TAMU, but may have lost his job by then. He is a senior, tho.

Mauk would have to play lights out for Pinkle not to give the job back to Franklin for his last home game.

Rumor is that Mauk is also pretty cocky à la Manziel. Could be a good thing... Could be the worst thing.

i feel fine about Mauk, just wish his debut wasn't against the best defense in the league

No kidding. The only good thing about his first start being against Florida is that at least it's a home game.

Also, I doubt Mizzou will have to score a lot of points to win the game. 20 should do it.

I'll bet he'll be alright. He probably won't be able to shite for a month, but he'll be alright

A defensive TD, an offensive TD and a FG or 2. Don't see much more than that.

He looked real nervous in the UGA game - two of the short throws he made for losses should have never happened and were lucky they only resulted in a loss of yardage. I hope he gets the nerves sorted out before FL - I have a feeling the gators will make him pay for poor choices.

And Florida doesn't have a potent offense capable of putting up 30 points per game

Word around town is that the kid has ego to spare. Which could be a good thing or bad thing, I guess. A huge ego is great if you're Michael Jordan, not so great if you're John Crotty.

I honestly have no idea how this will work out. Mauk set a ton of records in high school, seems to have a reasonably strong arm is also a pretty good scrambler. If he doesn't sh*t his pants out there, it seems like he should be okay.

Then again, he just got handed the keys to the first place team in the SEC East. A kid has to have his head on straight to be able to handle that.

So yeah, short answer to all this is: "*shrug* I dunno."
