We knew this before he signed with USC. One of his main things he was looking for in a school was one that was going to get him to the league. That's obviously not the sole reason he came to USC because any other school that was recruiting him was going to get him to the league.
Also after the Clemson game, Spurrier said "We got him one more year, then we're gonna shake his hand and thank him for everything he's done for South Carolina."

JD is nothing short of a great teammate from everything I have heard. I have actually been pleasantly surprised with how he has bought in to the college football culture. When he signed, I expected him to be a mercenary, which he may still be, but he always says the right things about teammates and his will to win.
After the Clemson game, SOS was asked about Clowney and said something to the effect of "we are glad to have him; next year we are going to shake his hand and thank him for everything he has down for South Carolina"

Spurrier commented in his last press conference that "we're glad to have Jadeveon for 1 more year and then we'll pat him on the back and send him on his way"
