Lee has only been sacked once in the last 4-5 games I believe (Jefferson has taken like 4 sacks, really dumb ones too). They can certainly pass protect. Run blocking has been tough with the 8 man fronts they've seen basically all year, but they have performed well there too. The most amazing thing to me is how many different starting combinations we've had with the injuries we've had.

Lonergan has missed 2.5 games
Faulk missed 1.5 games
Hebert missed 1.5 games
Blackwell missed half a game
Hurst missed half a game

We've had 11 offensive linemen play this year, 7 with 150 snaps or more

Why don't you just make a thread saying, is LSU any good? It will save you a lot of time.

It's been very good weight. He's dominating a lot more this year than last. Leads the team in knockdown blocks per snaps played.

He's a below average center but a good guard which is what he's played until Lonergan was out the last 2 games and he played center because we're thin there.

these are the best two.

The rest are pretty average and unremarkable.

I'm wondering how well the Tiger OL will handle the Bama pass rush.

LSU O'line sucks. Bama is the best at everything, ever so it doesn't even matter.

Do we move blackwell black to the left side and t bob starts over wiliford now that pj is back? been a lot of shuffling on our line

This would be false. Hurst is a very good RT, T-Bob a very good guard and Lonergan one of the better centers in this league. Our line is so solid because we don't have a weak link (unless T-Bob plays center) in it with some solid experienced depth that really doesn't see much a drop-off.

didn't say the rest of the line was a weak link just that they aren't that great. Though, they hold their own mostly. (except T.Bob)

LT Faulk
LG Hebert
C Lonergan
RG Blackwell
RT Hurst

That's our best line and what the coaches have gone with more than anything. Hebert has not started at RG this year.

I think our OL has overachieved this year. The only special thing about them is that they are versatile at other positions. They're slightly above average SEC size, avg speed & strength. Most have been gimped up and several are in starting roles outside of their recruited positions. If any team can exploit the entire OL as a weakness... it's Bama. We've had several individual athletes that have challenged them from game to game but no one that was as consistently as good as Alabama. That said, neither has Alabama with LSU's talent.

I give the Bama DL an edge over our OLine. This could be the difference in the ball game. All of the playaction in the world won't make a bit of good if you are not running the ball.

I agree. As I stated before, they are a great unit but individually if you look at them only Faulk and Blackwell stand out.

Once again T-Bob leads the OL in knockdown blocks per snaps played. He's been a mauler this year at guard. You cannot fault his play at center because that's just not his position and was forced to played the last 2.5 games (nicked up, at that).

And the other guys are not average or unremarkable. If they were they would be exposed in this league and they haven't been. Hurst is about as good a RT as you'll find in the SEC as is Lonergan at C. There hasn't been a complaint all year about either of those 2 guys you'll find. Just because they dont get the hype the Flukers or Vlanchos of the world get doesn't mean they are worse players.

nope bulk. He has been a weight room fiend since last year putting on weight even during the regular season of last year. Coaches told him they need him at at least 300lbs. to compete

Shows how much you know if you think Blackwell is our second best offensive lineman.

Lonergan is certainly better than him. I think Lonergan is the most important offensive lineman on our team and the only guy we can't do without. Blackwell has expeirence, which is the only thing that would give him the edge over Williford. I think Hurst is better too.
