Back when the Cotton Bowl was one of the big time bowls (not a secondary bowl as it is now), LSU gave UT its only loss, 13 to zip in the 1963 Cotton Bowl. It was the the most important game of the games that Texas and LSU have played over the years. LSU "owned" Texas in that game. Texas was ranked no. 5 in the final poll (released before the bowls) and LSU was ranked no. 7.

Texas has a record of 1-1 v. LSU in bowls, the only other bowl meeting being the 2004 Cotton Bowl. LSU has a 5-1 record v. Texas in games played in Louisiana, and a 9-7-1 record overall v. Texas. That record represents Texas' lowest percentage of wins against all but two other schools Texas has ever played more than 5 games, who still field football Div. 1teams.

By the way, on the subject of being owned, how does it feel to be owned by Vanderbilt? The Commodores have 8-3-1 record v. Texas.

I agree. Daniels is pretty damn good. They also got a bad-arse safety in William Moore.

Mizzou WR Jeremy Maclin is an All-American and could be another Devin Hester. And as long as Daniel is QB, Mizzou is a dangerous team against anyone.

But no question, the SEC is superior across the board to the Big-12.
