none of that makes sense.

Believe it or not, some people just don't like Texas.

I know that is just too simple and hard to grasp

but it's possible, I promise

I also get the feeling we were about 7-10 years late on this whole Austin thing. In another decade or so it will be just another city in Texas. It's a shame because you can see the remnants of what probably used to be a great town slowly dying out.

Sure, but when someone posts this...

's a bland, shallow place for the most part.

I can only assume that they are trolling.

I agree, I do like Austin though.

sure, he's probably trolling to an extent. But I definitely believe that he doesn't enjoy Austin.

I don't really like Austin. Or Texas for that matter. I had a good time in Dallas once, but it's not the same atmosphere as the south. Nashville and New Orleans > Any city in Texas.

But that's my personal opinion.

All of the fun one can have in New Orleans is almost completely offset in the longterm by the fact that, in general, it's a complete shithole.

I don't mind going there for a visit, but I'd be terrified to live there. Crime here in Houston hit an all-time high when the dregs of society showed up from NO after Katrina.

Not all of New Orleans is a shite hole

that's an ignorant statement

I've said numerous times that I don't like TX because of the dealings with the people. I don't claim to know the city.

The poor people of course commuted 1 state over after Katrina. That's what they could afford to do. The rest went elsewhere.

I forget how much of a bigot you are.

I've just skimmed this thread, but the Texas thing caught my eye. I don't like Texas either. I've spent a lot of time in Dallas/Fort Worth, there's plenty to do. I just don't like the overall feel. It's not terrible, just blah.

I've just had too many experiences with the false sense of Texas pride.

oh, I'm from Texas so I'm better than you. It's ridiculous.

Not that everyone is like that. But I've had numerous encounters.

I've been to most of New Orleans proper.
