Absolutely. If you go into a top teir job and flop immediately, you're on the street, lickity split. You gotta do juuuuuust enough to stick around for a few years.
This is why I think Butch is in on the take. He is shockingly bad during crunch time, yet seems to be a pretty good HC the other 98% of the time.

Big news for uga coming out in the next 24-36 hours. Pruitt is about to be "fired" is the leading rumor.
They may give him the opportunity to resign,, in lieu of termination though. His rumored blowups and physical altercations with the staff will be justification for termination, however, if they can get him to resign, they probably don't have to pay him a buyout and he doesn't have to have on his official resume' that he was fired for physically fighting with coworkers.

The obvious move is to have Pruitt pull a Fulmer, stab Richt in the back and takeover. Then he could drive the program into irrelevance.
I might have underestimated Saban. Maybe Pruitt was out there to be like a fox in the hen house. Cause a stir and be the bad guy. Then the UGA community rally's around "Good Christian Man" Mark Richt and he sticks around Athens for 5 more years.

This would be nice for normal folks, but I don't think that a major college will get a resume across their desk and not do some digging. This would be something that would follow him around, official or not.
