MSU would have to win the west a few times for Florida to seriously look at him IMHO. Way too much riding on a program like Florida to take a chance on someone who "just took MSU to a few bowls"
If memory server me correct, Alabama was after a MSU coach back in 2000 who had "Just taken MSU to a few Bowls" in Jackie Sherrill.
I wouldnt be surprised if Mullen eventually replaces Meyer at Florida.

Reading comprehension my friend, you said it yourself EVENTUALLY was the key word. Eventually isnt referring to this year, but in the near future if Mullen leads State to a few bowl games. Florida may fall on hard times and have a couple of bad years (8-4 or 7-5).

I think he was thinking along the lines of after 5-10 years eventually and/or after another stop (proving ground).

Until someone proves otherwise it's a stepping stone, that being said WTF is Ole Miss since they haven't even made the SECCG?

Get ready for an Ole Miss comment about them beating Tennessee last year, or a Kiffin comment, or maybe something about the Cotton Bowl or recruiting.
They use those types of comebacks to justify never making it to Atlanta.

I thought you didnt say anything negative about Ole Miss. Hypocrisy at its finest.

I dont talk negative about Ole Miss, their coaches, or players. I will talk about fans though.
Some, and I repeat SOME Ole Miss fans make too many excuses. As you stated in one of your posts on the Dan Mullen thread, you didnt make any excuses about losing the Egg Bowl. Just like I did when yall walked our dog in 2008 45-0. However some Ole Miss fans try to justify everything.
Im a realist and I will use facts instead of opinions. By saying that Ole Miss has never made it to Atlanta to the SEC Championship game is a FACT. Im not talking bad about Ole Miss by saying that.

Ok i hear ya but I think the thing that pisses off OM fans the most is we always here about Atlanta from state fans who have been only once, lost, and only had 8 wins to get their by winning a tie breaker. Yall went and congrats but I cant tell ya how many times when state has been down that their fans have "justified" their situation with that statement. To SOME state fans thats been their go to line since yalls lone appearance. We still havent been. I get it. It sucks but its true

No, but given the recent incestous nature of SEC hires(which took a hiatus from Bear at UK to non-SEC ATM onto Bama)..but having regained steam of recent in the form of HC hires(a practice formerly frowned upon except for mostly Asst and Coordinators poached away to SEC foes)..
Look for Mullen to be a contender for LSU and/or UGA, if/when they become open in the coming years, should either/both, not return to elite title-contention status very soon.

Alabama, Florida, Georgia Tennessee LSU and probably Auburn are career jobs. Arkansas might have been in the SWC, but no coach has had enough success to warrant other top 10 powers really making a charge at thier coach (with the exception of Neb and Nutt, but I'm not sure how serious that was) so its hard to say with them.

Why wouldnt he stay if he won and we paid him well?
If you were working at a mom a pop store and you were breaking your neck trying to get the business to be slightly successful and Microsoft says "hey we'd like you to come be the president of our company... we'll pay you more and the work won't be nearly as hard." What would you do

I don't think MSU is a career job yet,but it could be.MSU has potential to compete for championships in the SEC.Mullen will recruit good players and Mississippi has plenty of athletes to fit his system. If State ever could get an all SEC qb then ATL here we come.Saban always says the difference between a good player and a great player is not that much.Mullen will coach these boys up and they can be great.LSU,UGA,AUB are not that much better than us right now.I believe all those games will be close this yr.(7pts or less)Mullen will probably leave us in 2 or 3 yrs.Coaching and qb play win in the SEC imo.State hasn't had either one in a very long time.
