Also, I dont think there is anything novel or original to what Mullen has done with the media. He has bad mouthed OM every chance possible IMO to rally a fan base that is absolutely used to losing esp if you take Sherill out of the equation. Who else used these tactics? LANE KIFFIN. If you take an idea from Lane Kiffin thats nothing to be proud of or excited about. "Classy" is not the word I would use to describe Dan Mullen. Just my opinion tho

he should have beat LSU last year he buttfricked miles up and down the field all day but chad jones spoiled it for him.

i think it was a mistake to not run dixon 4 times at us on the goal line but that jump pass works if chad jones isn't a beast

On plays like that hindsight is always better than 20/20. If they would have ran dixon up 4 times and we would have stop him people would be saying he should have passed it.

Agree that bottomline though Chad Jones saved our arse that game.

punt return, tipping the pass and making the stop on the sneak. chad jones really did save the game.

honestly though dixon was going to truck our d into the endzone. they were gassed at that point and he was tearing us apart.

i think if any other defender was back there state gets that td

plus id rather go down knowing i gave our best player the ball instead of letting mini lee once again frick away a game

Mullen is definitely one of the better young coaches in the NCAA...How old is Turner Gill?

He is 47. And is going to do a great job at Kansas IMO.

Mullen is ONLY 38, which is Extremely young for a Head Coach in the SEC. The Second oldest is Urban Meyer at 46.

Oh I agree would have done the same thing. Even though they were running the ball down the field on us that drive the defense did decide to Nut up and get some stops. But you cant really fault them that much for trying one pass. We were loading up big time. I mean it was wide open but Chad Jones was like oh wait im a freak as athlete and knocked it down.

Other than calling Ole Miss, The School Up North, how has Mullen bad mouthed Ole Miss?

He has done NOTHING along the lines of Lane Kiffin. He hasnt accused other SEC schools of illegal recruiting, he hasnt called out any other schools or said he is going to beat them when they play. I dont know where your getting information to compare Mullen to Kiffin other than that they are both young coaches.

yea defiantly cant fault him but he also let lee or gave lee the option to try and punch it on us. i dont think the d nuts up 4 times to stop a bruiser like dixon. its alot easier to stop the mini lee. Im glad he didn't run dixon 4 times bc id prob have jumped off the upper deck

He has made mutliple speaking appearances(in MS and i think TN) for things that didnt even involve football. He was brought there to speak about things such as education, speaking to kids, etc. and has totally missed the boat. Guess what the only thing he talked about was? Yep. Ole Miss in a negative light. I personally know some individuals that were in the group that asked him to speak. They are State ppl thru and thru and they were VERY embarrassed by the way he presented himself.

While Dan Mullen might be annoying and goofy, Lane Kiffen is an insufferable douche who did nothing but bring the entirety of the conference down.

Dan Mullen >>>>> Lane Kiffin

No, TSUN is an old Woody Hayes insult for Michigan. It's hardly a Dan Mullen original.

Fair enough DC I agree with how you feel about Kiffin. However, the comparison of tactics both coaches have used is undeniable. Do you agree? I wasnt comparing them as coaches. I was comparing the desperate tactics both used to inspire down and uninterested fan bases.

WOW you guys really HATE DAN MULLEN.

I have yet to say one negative word about Houston Nutt on here, I think he does a heck of a job and is a good football coach. It seems that a lot of the Ole Miss posters on here look at Mullen and talk about him how the Arkansas posters talk about Nutt.

Look this was an actual event that happened and I dont just make shite up on here to piss ppl off. I think State has a good chance to go to a bowl this year if they stay healthy, esp in the trenches. I dont hate Dan Mullen I was just providing an example to your question. He kicked our arse and ruined my thanksgiving. Am I ready to say hes an above avg SEC coach just yet? Respectfully NO

I agree...he still needs to prove more. It's funny to read the lower IQ State/OM fans who think he'll be hired this year after predicting a 6-6 season for State.
