They are a glorified honor guard.
Not saying all of them or none of them do not enter the military after college but being in the Corps of Cadets is not actually serving the United States Military.
Huge difference. You can leave the Corps of Cadets at anytime unlike the military.

Considering I am an Army officer within over 26 years of commissioned service, I am well aware what there status is in regards to the military. They are a commissioning source that has served this Nation honorably and well in times of war and peace. The fact that you and others in this thread are unaware of that is beyond sad. You can have your fun with A&M and their quirky traditions, but the Corps of Cadets is a very unique institution that should be honored.

I have mixed feelings on the pinks and greens.
I like the way they look, but they are extremely uncomfortable, itch a lot, and really smell when it gets hot or after they get wet.
Also, welcome to the wonderful psychotic world of Randolph Duke. This is the same person. Whobhas been trying to get the 12th Man trademark rendered invalid for almost 15 years and who has succeeded only in making the argument for it stronger.

So is LSU and many other colleges around the nation.
What they have at A&M is not unique because there are 6 other universities including Virginia Tech who are senior military colleges.
You do not see the Hokies parading soldiers around like A&M

Actually, you do. Their Corps of Cadets is about 1/3 the size of A&M's but is VERY visible.
I'm sure if I were to ask one of my former bosses (Virginia Tech class of 1995) he would agree.

Exactly!! Thank you.

Are you a Texas fan? Why does their Corps of Cadets bother you so much? It is a very unique tradition for their school. VA Tech, not so much. Do you have issues with VMI and the Citadel as well?

Montgomery Hill, A. Leblanc, texashorn, 12th Aggy, amd Jake Lamotta are all alters of Randolph Duke.

How is it unique for A&M when Virginia Tech has their same status.
For you to attempt to use patriotism for A&M shows how much a facade A&M really is.

Virginia Tech has the same status because they meet the definition.
They don't have the same history, culture, or resume.

Because they are an individual institution that chooses their own distinct traditions. They choose to make the Corps of Cadets a central part of their education experience. VA Tech does not. Are you that dense?
And what the hell kind of gibberish is this patriotism argument? The Corps of Cadets has produced officers for the service of our Nation. That is not using patriotism, that is using facts.

Sir, it's like trying to tell an Afghan male not to participate in "Thursday activities", like trying to explain Operational Design to someone whose entire knowledge of warfare is Call of Duty, like trying to explain the chain of command and UCMJ to Chelsea Handler...wasted effort.

History and culture of creating an illusion.
Truthfully your fake claims of being something that you are not are an attack on the United States Military.
There have been great people who have came out of A&M to serve this country but they have not served this country until they enter the military.

You're someone who claimed that, by posting online from Afghanistan, that I was stealing bandwidth meant for "real Soldiers to Skype home."
I and Wolfhound, two Senior Field Grade Officers, haven't claimed to be anything that we are not.

I do not even know what you are speaking about.
If you really want me to push the issue I will pull the covers of your claims of being a Major in the U.S Army.

Your alter, "texashorn" did exactly that in 2015 when I was deployed to Afghanistan.

Please do this. I would love to see that trainwreck.

I am not Randolph Duke first of all.
Fort Lewis only has so many majors who have attended so many universities.
Maybe one or two phone calls can clear this all up.

There is something seriously wrong with you.
This is a sports message board.
The fact that you take all of this so seriously ... I don’t know.
I can’t imagine what it’d be like to live in such an unsettled state of mind.
