Dude - your tinfoil hat is on way to frickiing tight. No one cares what Saban said or didn't say.

The AU fan asked for a link, so he apparently cared. It was the subject of numerous articles and tales all over the country, so alot of people did apparently care. Just setting the record straight. Take your own advice and chill.

You do realize that smaller publications have to purge articles from their sites after a certain period of time right?? I seem to recall that Saban saying something like that during the run up to the BCS CG, but really - WTF does it matter????

The game is set. You're in. Why are you so defensive about this? It doesn't matter that 75% of the people in America think you backed in. You're not going to change that opinion by arguing here.

He was lobbying to get in IF certain teams wound up losing. (like OSU, Stanford, Boise, Oregon, etc.)

He was lobbying to get in IF AUBURN lost. Basically saying that Auburn shouldn't automatically get the nod over LSU if the teams finished with identical records. For example, had LSU lost to Ole Miss (avoiding using Arkansas because 3 way tie would have been different) then Bama could be chosen ahead of LSU even if LSU won conference title.

The situation that Miles was lobbying for is quite different than the one that the Tide were in this season. Miles wasn't saying that if LSU ran the table that they deserved another shot at Auburn. He was saying that if Auburn lost a game then LSU should be considered for a spot in the BCSNCG. If LSU had lost a game this season this article would relate a lot better.

Agree with your post. The issue I was speaking to is whether a team should be required to win their conference to get in the championship game and your coach thinks it should not matter. I have repeated over and over Miles is first class.

Nebraska already went to a BCSNCG without winning their division and Oklahoma has gone without winning their conference.

Why is it defensive to provide a link and explanation when someone asks for it? This is a message board.

Have a great day, Katy Tiger.

FWIW, I feel that winning your division/conference shouldn't be a prerequisite for playing for the national title.
