We're missing 3 All-SEC defenders an All-SEC RT and a few more. They're missing their QB. It's not the game we thought it would be. Injuries are definitely a part of the game but typically at this point in the year neither team is hit with catastrophic injuries. This time both will be limping in. Oddly enough, both will probably be stronger later in the year because Tennessee will get a few of theirs back from injury and Del Rio is scheduled to recover in time to complete the season. It's just the timing of these injuries that sucks.

I do agree that it seems like our last several meetings have always been with our teams missing some key players, which sucks. It'd be nice to see a UF-UT game where both teams have all their starting players actually, you know, playing.

Especially weird that it seems like we never have our starting QB against you guys these days. I mean, I'm not about to cry over back-ups pulling wins out of their butts, but it's just... weird.

I'm also a little salty because the first Gator game I can actually attend in person this year is LSU, and we may or may not have Del Rio back by then. Which makes me sad-face because a back-up QB was the same story the last time I attended LSU in The Swamp and that did't play out so well for a large variety of reasons. *sigh*

UF also has injuries besides QB Del Rio, we are going to be missing a starting guard Tyler Jordan who has eye socket injury...Calloway is still not 100% at WR.

Injuries happen and you have to plug in the next guy. Thank God we have Appleby, a sixth year sr QB transfer, a r/s frosh & a true soph to play guard. Last year we were paper thin in depth and Mac has added a lot of new talent and also got us some JUCO guys.

* for this game regardless the result. Both will be different teams by the end of the year. No bragging rights

Yeah last real "our" year UT had was '11. Hunter going down for the year in the first pass play of the uf game deflated that team.

I've always seen in game injuries vs injuries prior to a game differently. A good coach should be able to prep a team better knowing players are out. In game injuries to a major player is harder to for sure.
