I still like Richt alot. I think fans want to pull the trigger to quickly b/c a coach doesnt' win a championship every year. That's insane. Sure UGA has been "down" but it's so hard to stay at 10 wins every year in the SEC. Even LSU and UF have had those years where it doesn't meet expectations.
I think he represents UGA in a positive way too. Even when UGA was good, you never hated on Richt like you did Spurrier, Urban, Tubberville. Or least I didn't.
I think of Richt's situation as to Tom Osbourne. Eventually Richt will get there. It's only a matter of time.

And what's crazy is that from 2001-2009 he averaged 10 wins a year. That's pretty damn impressive.

I used to feel that way and still kind of do. I mean think about this. Florida won both of their titles this decade with a loss. LSU won one of theirs with 1 loss, and one with 2 losses. Richt's best team was in 02 (with 1 loss) but didn't have the good fortune that UF/LSU had with other teams also having a loss. That's just the way the ball bounces though, you can't control that. It's not like he's forgotten how to coach either, but there is definitely something vastly different now than it was his first 5 years. I really love Richt, and I want him to stay here and win here. But if we don't win the east next year with our schedule, I'm afraid it might be time to move on....contingent on if we could find a homerun to come in and replace him. Firing Richt to bring in a Kirby smart type (not that we would bring in KS, because I promise you he'd be like 10th on the list, I'm just using him as an example) would be pointless and just set us back another year or two.

Is Richt burnt out?
I don't think so. He looked pretty pumped up v.s. Auburn.
We need to keep him. UGA has had a compete turn around since stripping Bobo of his playcalling duties.

He's done.
Coaches have a short lifespan in this league.
He's done well to stick this long.

I feel Richt has done a good job and deserves to stay.He was to loyal to Martinez and that has hurt the program imo. When UGA was preseason #1 a couple of years ago, they returned 1 OL from the previous year.4 new lineman to start a year is tough even with great skill players like Stafford and Moreno.I say give him enough time to recruit players and develop them to run 3-4 scheme.BTW BOBO has done a great job with murray. We always blame the coaches for things but hardly ever give them credit.Murray makes excellent decisions with the ball.Like who to throw it to in certain coverages and where to throw it like high, low at the defenders head when back is turned etc.that's coaching.Dawg fans that want to fire Richt who are you going to get that's better to replace him. He's probably one of the top 10 coaches in the country and the other 9 have really good jobs already.

so keep him on as QB coach but don't let him call plays. Plus I guarantee you Richt has helped alot as well.
