Ehh that's a little more understandable. But people that make it life or death are the ones that really ruin it. In the end it's just a fun event to attend and it's fun to follow the team and its progress. I can't stand people that take it too far. And let me reiterate that this is coming from someone that is third generation and has only missed two home games since I was eight years old. Auburn-Alabama is far and away the greatest rivalry in American sports, but dumbasses like Updyke, Finebaum, and certain other members of the media, turn it into something it should never be. It should be a friendly rivarly goddamnit. I have plenty of friends that graduated or are attending Alabama, but it's the damned trashy people that can't even think about going to college that ruin it for those of us that actually have connection to the rivalry. /rant /elitism

You are right. Some fans do take it too far. It's just a game.

Sorry, as someone from Alabama, it's a pet peeve of mine. And it's hard not to be a little elitist when you grow up in a town where only you and your close friends grew up in homes where both parents had college degrees. It was just disgusting today when I went to Walmart with my ex.

Walmart has the best fans purchasing their game day gear.

I hate the fans who seem to hate the other team more than they like their own team. To me, they're not even fans. Just haters.

I agree.
I also hate fans that hate people because they are fans of another team.

I don't understand this myself. Some of my best friends go to bama. And the only girl I really give a shite about will probably end up there too. I can't grasp how that could change my opinion of those people.
The problem is people that don't even go to college. It's the trashy people among both fan bases that really ruin it. If it weren't for them, the UA/AU rivalry might be #1 in the world. It's fun among those of us that actually go to college and have a connection to the schools. It's the trailer trash that fricks everything up.

I don't understand how those people hold down jobs.

I'm pretty sure we've all had this conversation in the workplace (or some equivalent): "Oh, you went to Alabama? I went to Auburn. War Eagle. Roll Tide. Ha ha ha."
If it's actually a big fricking deal to these people, how do they function in society?

It's past midnight. Not Sunday anymore. Can you drive?
Does it work that way? I've never tried.

I wouldn't want to. I could if it were necessary. I'm physically fine, but mentally I'm in a much better state of mind than normal. This is my paper writing state, unless it's a strictly scientific paper. Is it bad that all the papers I've ever written that were extremely well thought of were written while I was under the influence?

Not that bad. I wrote lots of papers stoned. I knew a guy in a finance class who had to give a lot of presentations in front of the class and would always take 4 shots of vodka beforehand.
