I don't think Mond is that bad, better than most.

Nah, I've watched the tape:

He doesn't read defenses. He is a one read guy, and the worst part is that he's not like, let's say, Corral. He has his read, throws there no matter what. Most athletic Quarterbacks make one to two reads and then run, which is productive.

He doesn't even do that well.

Very mediocre Quarterback.

Mond's CAREER completion percentage in college is 57.8%. His career completion percentage in high school, if you combine his numbers at Regan High with IMG...is 57.4%.

If you combine Mond's H.S. and College Stats, he has a career completion percentage across all levels...of 57.7%

That's putrid as a power 5 starter for 4 years.

Let's compare it to the other two Aggie QBs on the roster and the one who is currently committed.

Zach Calzada: 239/469 (51.0%) - Maybe there's a reason he's a 3 star

Haynes King: 400/655 (61.1%) - He was injured much of his senior year yet still had better numbers than any of Mond's H.S. years. His junior year, he had a 69.9% completion percentage.

Eli Stowers (2021): Currently 61.5% career percentage 2 games into the 2020 season. His junior season his completion % was 65.1%

And there are QBs who have low completion percentage but make up with it with their legs. Prescott hovered around 60% for most of his time at MSST but rushed for almost 1,000 yards one season and 800+ the next.

But like I said above, Mond doesn't...run? Like he stares down his first read, and just waits to either get sacked or throw it. I'm sure he'd be dangerous if he actually used his wheels, but even Trask has a higher rushing average than Mond.

And Trask is a terrible runner.

Mond reminds me of what Aaron Brooks was for the Saints: kind of between a dual-threat and a pocket passer, doesn't run much though. Capable of making crazy tight-window throws for a while then going back to mediocrity at best for most of the time

Haynes King was A&M's leading rusher against Alabama.

King has more rushing yards (43) than Mond does (37) this season on 1/3 of the carries.

There is almost no football-related reason to keep playing Mond at this point.

Why? They don't have to defend more than 20 yards beyond the LOS.

Daniel has an operation scheduled for Saturday, so they’re focused on that.

Our run defense looked like poop against Carolina. You have 2 good backs.

Yes, and you'll laugh your arse off when, on 2nd and inches we run two straight fade patterns for incompletions and punt.

I know jumbo liked the jump ball and fade to the TE.

Mond's next pass attempt that goes more than 20 yards beyond the LOS in the air will be his first.

Because A&M isn't a good team even though they have the talent. I expect this to be a 2-3 TD loss. They will stuff your run but you don't need to run to beat them. You can just torch them with passing. Mond is also easy to defend against. He will just dink and dunk down the field and choke in the redzone.
