I went full Aggie and had to check out the coaches-we-want thread at ShaggyBevo. It cracks me up that those frickers still think they can just sail the money boat up to Saban, Meyer, Harbaugh, Muschamp, or a slew of others they want and that these coaches will jump ship as if they are waiting for the day Bevo comes and resucues them from the football backwaters that are tOSU, UF, O, Bama, or the fricking San Francisco 49ers.

The best hands down was the one that suggested the Black helicopter theory of Coach Saban keeping JFF at bay by wanting 'hurry up offense' rules changed.

Looking at that board makes me hope they hire a nobody and have absolutely no success for about 30 years while every other team in their little conference just runs a train on the year in and year out.

Saban was trying to keep Bama in the news during the bye week. He knew exactly what he was doing. He plays the media like a fiddle. Hell, the question that he was responding to had absolutely nothing to do with what he said.

No, what's going to keep JFF at bay is when he gets hauled off the field on a gurney in the first quarter of both the LSU and Alabama games.

They are like the old money children that pissed away daddy's fortune but can't accept it over there - you know, like the guy who drives the beat-up, shitty old 911 but still flashes his Porsche key to everyone.

That's a really good analogy.

UT got rid of every staff member except the one they needed to.

Honestly I can't see them firing the doddering old fool.

He was their ticket to the promised land. They hadn't been there before for a long time and they won't be there for a long time after.

If you're referring to me, that was obviously an outlandish joke, mixed in with other outlandish hyperbole. The selective reading some people have is ridonkulous.

Saban really did send them back to the stone-age. I've always heard that MB was going to retire after winning that one, but losing it and the subsequent downward spiral was too much for his ego to let go.

I was still in Austin for that game, and for a month I told everyone I worked with that they weren't ready for a team like Bama. When McCoy got broken on the first drive, I thought I was going to get murdered by the people I was watching the game with.

I hope you're right. They've made their texas-sized bed, and I hope they like laying in it.

I can't believe people honestly use the "if McCoy hadn't been injured" argument. We had TWO rushers for over 100 yards each. Two different guys. In the NC game. We ran all over them.

And Colt McCoy doesn't play defense.

Baked Lays, Fountain Coke, Pretzel M&Ms.

Typing up someone's notes for them for $.

I'm ready for this.

It's because y'all let them get close again in the second half. I knew damn well it was because Saban took his foot off the gas and was working on running the clock out more than scoring from watching him for years.

A lot of my UTw friends just couldn't and still can't believe that. Most of them were also watching Saban for the first time ever excepting maybe the LSU/OU MNC. Since it was video game offense in the Big 12, and that was what they were used to, a lot of them just couldn't accept they were being manhandled unless the score was a zillion to 3.

I even told them during the game that if more points were needed, Bama would pretty much score at will, which they did. To this day, when ever football comes up with them, there will be a "If Colt..." part of the discussion.

When we were up 21-3 at halftime or whatever it was, these Texas fans in front of me turned around and were like "How can you even enjoy this? All you do is run the ball. It's so boring."

I was just like... wow.

Just say, " and if Texas had scored more points than Alabama then they would have won too!"
