Ohio State and Michigan had its time. It is no longer a huge rivalry. Ohio owns UM.
They go in cycles. Texas-OU lost its luster, so has Michigan-Ohio State. The Iron Bowl has been a very close game for the last decade, even with AU's winning streak from 2002-2007. However, the IB could lose its luster if Auburn gets smacked hard by the NCAA.

THe Iron Bowl had a lot of luster when Alabama lost like 4 games in 30 years, but it was because it was in Birmingham, half and half. I think it's more susceptible to cycles now.
Having said that, I've had people who went to the Texas OU game back when it was still a big deal come to the Iron Bowl, and I've had OSU-Michigan friends come to the Iron Bowl. Both were expecting to know what it would be like having been to their rivalries, and both were blown away.

Having been to games all over the country, there is nothing... I repeat, nothing.... like the Iron Bowl.

The National Championship game in the rose bowl last season, was NOTHING like the Iron Bowl.
