Michigan was something that was way over his head. He didn't understand the scrutiny, the arrogance, the way you are supposed to be a Michigan Man. Michigan is a lifestyle that is not easy to break into if you're an outsider.

Remember what Bo said when he fired Frieder, "I want a Michigan man to coach a Michigan team.". Well it hasn't changed in any sport.

i gotcha.

i always found michigan to be one of the more underachieving of the blue bloods, despite their arrogance. after all, they have fewer titles than auburn in the last fifty years.

You place more value on titles than ten win seasons until we got the BCS it was so subjective I tend to look at Ten win seasons

Michigan isn't about winning the MNC actually. They always have 2 goals: beat tOSU and win Rose Bowl. They hide behind the academic excuses to "go win a NC" in football. The department is a contradiction in itself. They preach academics and ethics in the biggest visability sport but cut low and are dirty in everything else.

But you have to walk the arrogant walk if you have the Maize M associated with you.

When I first met Jon Faulk I realized exactly why there was the attitudes towards Michigan

Last seasons LSU could very well be a better team than whoever wins next year in Miami

poll titles, i do. they never had a year they could say, "Damn we got screwed" and should have won a title. They just never had a good run at one. Plus, their bowl record was atrocious under bo.

Michigan has three sets of classes sort of like Georgetown.

1. For the real students
2. For Walk ons and Olympic sports
3. To keep stars eligible

Case in point 94 penn state does not loose a game nebraska wins the title as they should have but if the 94 psu team played in 93 or 95 they would have been awarded the title

By the time college football has an equitable playoff system the rust belt teams will no longer have a shot due to shifting population

That's one thing about michigan that annoys me. I worked with several michigan fans that decided to talk shite to me about Titles. Threw out the 'Bama claims any Title from anybody blah blah blah.' They claim 11 and I think only 2 are poll Titles. Why don't they catch shite?

Because they're Michigan and they matter in every sport. It's the culture they have and they're protected by having a media that doesn't attack them much about titles.

The goal at Michigan isn't NC it's beating tOSU and winning the B1G

I think thats a cop out because they couldnt win one.

From 1959-now they had only 8 seasons that featured 0 or one loss. In contrast, alabama has had 17, penn state 11, usc 13.

I went to Penn State before the big ten I never paid attention to Michigan or Ohio State because they went to the Rose Bowl and we never saw them post season

thats why i did a 0 or 1 loss comparison with a couple other blue bloods. Bama has twice as many 0 or 1 loss seasons since 1959.

Until you get a chance to meet Michigan Athletic Department officials you won't truly get it. I never understood it truly even after meeting a bunch of them. When I was at SMS we wanted to win NC's ultimately but they believe a B1G is more rewarding.

I've run across some awesome michigan fans. One of my best friends is a michigan fan, but she doesn't talk shite. Too many of the ones i've met had enormous egos and talked down to me. Theyre as bad as notre damn
