More will be revealed, at this moment his brother would be the guy I would take based on a track record longer than one season in the NFL

Saban couldn't win in the NFL and hasn't proven he could win at a shitty program the way Harbaugh has.
He led Michigan State to their second highest finish in the AP rankings in their last 40 years. It's a complete myth that Saban wasn't a highly regarded coach before he came to LSU. I remember Brent Musburger splooging himself every time he talked about Saban and that was in the late '90s.

Can't argue with that. Both of them are great coaches

Nick Saban. But hell, Jim Harbaugh ain't a bad second option.

I agree with you there. John's done a great job with the Ravens.

It will be interesting to see if Harbaugh ever comes back to college, even if he stays successful in the NFL. I could see the school in Austin throwing a ridiculous salary his way when the time comes soon :nb4obsessed:

I love when people try to find justification in implying Saban isn't a great coach. You just end up sounding like a moron. If a new football team, college or pro, needed a head coach, Nick Saban would produce waves more buzz than Harbaugh would. Not even close...

I really, really like Saban, but I'd take Harbaugh.

I think it would be more negative if it was pro. He's one of the best ever in college but I'd be pretty pissed if the Texans hired him. I just don't think he's an NFL coach, a lot of guys aren't. Just like a lot of NFL coaches are/would be terrible in college.

All played part, but I'm pretty sure Harbaugh is the only common coach between all 3 of Josh Johnson, Luck and Alex Smith

I don't think Harbaugh or Saban could succeed in a Vandy type situation, no matter how much time they have.

What is so different between Vandy and Stanford?

Vandy is in Tenn and Stanford is in Cali. Also Vandy is in the SEC where 5 different programs have won Nattys. The two situations are not close to comparable.
Stanford was a gold mine waiting to be tapped.

Using the year 1992 when Arkansas joined the SEC as a starting point, my guess is Stanford has been in ten bowl games, they have a track record of winning with super smart kids recruited nationwide. Barry Sanders' kid the latest of many kids that picked academics over athletics when he said thanks but no thanks to his dad's alma mater Oklahoma State.
