I think you need to take a chance. Go hire a young coach who is hungry and wants a chance to build something and stay Holtz and Spurrier were good for you but you know those guys weren’t in it for the long haul. Go get you a young guy take a chance. Dabo wasn’t a sexy hire and I know everyone makes fun of him but I think he’s worked out pretty good.

You seem to be basing future projections on past performance. That is ok, but this isn’t last year. You beat UNC by one point. UNC man...that’s not Auburn or Florida. That’s UNC. That’s serious cause for concern when you’re looking at having to play a team like LSU or OSU.

You are right, my friend. If we go legend, we need to PAY Mike Leach. Otherwise, yep-- Kendall Briles, Lane Kiffin, Brent Venables (yeah, I know...), Matt Rhule would all be a good start

people said the same thing last year when Clemson gave up a lot of yards to SC and texas am.

I never made any projection about Clemson winning. I responded to your bragging post about how Ohio State would blow out Clemson.

You've not provided any evidence of that.

You have also not talked about how bad LSU's defense has been and explained how that would be a good matchup with CLemson's offense.

I think Clemson is a more balanced team than LSU and Burrow hasn't seen a defense structured like Clemson's defense.

if teams like Ole Miss put points on LSU it doesn't seem logical to think LSU is a lock to beat Clemson. i don't think you sincerely believe Clemson can't beat LSU.

it is weird how OHio State and LSU dbags pop up on a topic about Clemson and SC.

I’m old man. I played this game and I coached this game. Some kids that played for Carolina. I got my arse beat and I have beat a lot of arse. Through it I learned when you get that guy across from you be humble because if and WHEN he gets you, you don’t want him to rub it in. Be humble and the fall from the top is not as hard

Clemson is good. Where does ACC rank amongst power 5?

Not enough interconference games... bullshite. Strangely conferences are ranked as a matter of routine by the committee.

Gee I wonder why undefeated clem ain't number one????

frick.

Off.

the committee is people full of bias too.

For example, Florida is nothing special this year but b/c they've won titles in the past, they are highly ranked. What's their best win? Auburn who has a terrible QB.

Florida struggled to beat Miami who had a first time starter at QB and a struggling O-line.

You’re right, Clemson is a more balanced team than LSU. Most teams are more balanced than LSU. It is what it is.

I’ll say this, though. The few times LSU has needed defensive stops, they’ve gotten them.

You’d be severely underestimating the LSU defense if you think they can’t get the job done in the unlikely event the offense is slowed down enough to make it a game. Ask Auburn.

I’ll be honest with you UNC came to play that day. They did some things that seemed to confuse the OL. They got pressure on Lawerence and the OL has four maybe five false starts. So I’m not saying they( UNC) is good but they had a good game plan and they came to play. I give them credit.

Clemson is a good but untested team. LSU is a good and tested team. That’s all I have to go on, man, but those things can’t be disputed. I’ll take the tested team every time, biased or not bro.

I’m not trying to say what WILL happen, just what the likely outcome is based on what we do know

based on out of conference play,

Clemson beat Texas AM and likely SC (who beat UGA at UGA)
UNC, 5th in its division, beat SC
Miami, 4th in its division, almost beat Florida
Va Tech should have beat ND at ND with a 3rd string QB.
Pitt beat UCF.

that sounds like a conference that holds its own

Let's look at SEC OOC games.
Alabama had a big win over Duke who is 6th in its division.
Miss State lost to Kansas State.
Ole Miss lost to Memphis.
Tenn lost to G State.
Mizzo lost to Wyoming.
SC lost to UNC.
Auburn beat Oregon barely.
Florida beat Miami barely.
Arkansas lost to at least two non P5 colleges.

Unc played well, and were more than ready for clem and usc.

To act like Carolina is trash and then to mention unc (cycling/tillman) is the height of being disingenuous
