Did you see my last edit of the post above? I hit submit, then added a statement.

They played well. They fought. They will have a good season.

We were not lucky to win. We should have won. I suppose that is my point of contention. Your hyperbole struck a chord with me.

Fumbling is part of the game but is a controllable part. We clean that up and it’s a 14 point swing in our favor.

Not sure how you get 14 out of that. I count 7. It cost you a TD but MU would have gotten the ball either way with time on the clock. Can't really say the MU drive wouldn't have still happened. Also falling on the second fumble in the end zone was a bit of luck going KY's way.

My take is KY won the first quarter and we played fairly even after that. Two evenly matched teams IMO. Shaping up to be a good reivalry going forward.

I can accept that we played evenly after the first quarter. I cannot accept the other UK dude saying we were beaten for three quarters and we’re lucky to win.

Were you in the stadium, you could better understand the vacuum of all momentum that took place after we turned it over instead of going up 28-7. The defense played deflated. Hence, 14 point swing.

Sorry, don't buy it. Fans have a tendency to project their emotion and disappointment on the team. The players train for this and have coaches whose job it is to keep the emotions going in the right direction (I wish I had that in my living room sometimes while I am watching). The KY D was not out there during that last drive thinking "why bother, a really bad thing just happened to us." For every "momentum shift" going south I've seen an equal number of teams rising to the occasion and getting the stop or getting the ball back.

Now a fumble at midfield (or worse in KY territory) that led to an MU score, you could ascribe MU's 7 to that. In this situation, MU got the ball with the same field position and time on the clock as if KY scored.

It cost you 7 not 14.
