When you win 7/8 against the big boys, it's probably because you're better than the ones you played.

Is Oregon State a "big boy"?
I only see three games here, and I think Choklahoma wasn't good the year you refer to (I may be wrong).

Boise WOULDN'T be going 11-1 or 12-0 every year if they played an actual schedule. It is relevant, it does matter how many good teams they play.
No, it doesn't. The word in bold is why.

What matters is what actually did happen, not what would have happened IF they did this or did that. Recent history has proven, whether you choose to accept it or not, that Boise State is an elite football program. You needn't argue with me because there is no argument. This is a fact.

It isn't BSU's problem that UGA's schedule is too hard for them. That's UGA's problem.

Boise State will probably beat Georgia. Why? Because Boise State is probably better than Georgia.

So basically, everyone should go independent and schedule nothing but cup cakes, because SOS doesn't matter right? That would make for some great football...

Good God you're so simple minded.

Do you not get that your argument makes no sense?
So you actually do think that SOS is why Boise State won by 28, 15, 13, and 11 over 10-4 Oregon State, 10-3 Oregon, 5-7 Oregon State, and 10-3 Oregon, respectively? Or was Boise State just better than those teams? I'd prefer if you answer my question instead of tell me what you think of my overall intelligence. I'm sure you're smart enough to answer this question.

No, when I said:

...what I meant was,

You needn't paraphrase. I said what I meant.

Serious question: Did you grow up playing and watching sports? Because you always come off as someone who is kinda new to it all.

partly

partly because they were better ON THAT DAY.

But I'll say a 3 loss Oregon team is a better team than Boise.

Will be a 6 to 7 player rotation, which is more actually typical at BSU. That makes it hard for the DC to key in on one or two top wide outs.

Please tell me BSU that you think this is an advantage....are you kidding me?!?!!

I will never dispute that Boise puts good football teams on the field. I will say that their resume often sucks. A lot of people seem to think that Boise sucks and is only good because of their schedule, which isn't the case. They consistently have good football teams.

My beef comes in with the entitlement, "We should get a shot" crew, which is straight and utter fecal matter when you play some of the worst teams in FBS on a weekly basis and one or two BCS teams a year. Auburn had to learn in 2004 that your resume can make or break your season, regardless on if you lose or not, and Boise's resume is just never good.

Now, I will say, I don't think they are leaps and bounds better than the Oregon teams they beat. I sure don't think Boise qualifies as an elite program, I just don't think they've done enough against good competition, and I'm sure that comment comes at xiv's chagrin. I think they are great at rallying behind the underdog role and just straight outplaying teams.

This year's Georgia squad is better on paper than this year's Boise squad, I believe.

I could see either team winning, it should be a close game.

If I put money on it, I'd take Boise at this time.

If that were true, two straight 10-3 Oregon teams wouldn't lose by more than 10 to Boise State.

Boise State is ranked in the top 10 more often than not, not because New Mexico State sucks, but because Boise State is good.

Not surprisingly, the two worst in the thread are the first two to get personal.

Played basketball in high school. I boasted a school record for most consecutive FT's made in practice, and about an 11" vertical leap.

So you do agree that Boise State wins those games because they're better, right?

And Boise State has never been ranked in the BCS higher than that 2004 Auburn team. I'll say it again: Boise State has never been given anything they didn't deserve, and they've never been gypped.

The minute the six BCS computers give BSU a #2 rating on a Sunday in December is the minute I'll say that BSU deserves a title shot. I've never before said that they have, and I won't say it before that happens.

I'll be shocked if Georgia wins, not because Boise State is that much better than Georgia, but more because I think there is a specter of uncertainty at Georgia that will kind of show on the field next month. Not good when everything seems to be going the right way for Boise.

Just curious, but if Boise hadn't choked against Nevada last year and won in Overtime, would you have considered them title worthy?
