With SEC going to 9 conference games, the POD system is perfect.
4 pods
Each team plays the three schools in their POD and plays a rival out of the other pods, and then 3 non-rivals out of a rotating cross-pod. The team from the two PDS playing each other with the best record goes to the SCCCG.

Maybe one day conferences will become so big that we will have to divide them up regionally
The regional pods can be 12 teams and we can call ours the south east regional pod
Maybe we can divide that pod into divisions called east and west
And in the end we all just end up where we started. A guy can hope

If both bama schools went east and Missouri went west, it would still be imbalanced. It would need to be a team in MS shifting over east.

Solution is to play every team in the SEC with 4 byes. That will be a long season but well worth it. That will means playing 16 regular season games. This is the right formula if you want a true champion to be your winner.
Plus we could start the season earlier and end it much later too. That would be awesome.
