Breakdown of Oregon-LSU game.
When Oregon has ball- Oregon is all about run game and always will be. LSU is replacing DT's and best LB in Sheppard. Also Oregon is replacing some O-Line and WR's. The difference is Thomas. I think he makes a big jump in second year at starter and has a big game. LSU lacks the stong push inside to disrupt Oregon's read offense. Thomas will have enough time to look at defense and make right decision. Advantage- Oregon
When LSU has ball- If LSU is going to win they have to score points. I think they might score between 20-27 points but I don't think it will be enough. LSU should have a big advantage running the ball behind experienced O-Line and talented group of backs. It comes down to Jefferson and I say he makes enough mistakes to offset LSU's powerful run game.- Advatage-LSU slightly
I say Oregon wins 35-24.
BhamDore also weighs in:

I don't see the LSU hype either. I think they are a nine win team. They have a lot of solid athletes in the secondary, and I expect them to have one of the best O-lines in the SEC, but every other unit seems average to below average to me.
I just don't see a top 5 team that every one is projecting them to be. 8-4 regular season and 9 wins after the bowl game.

Whydoes everybody think LSU is going to have a great D-Line? Sure Montgomery is a stud, but the DT's aren't anything special. The D-Line is just average besides Montgomery.

Sure all those players are SEC caliber players. But they aren't anything special, do you really think they are gonna dominate a game like Florida's 06 D-Line or Auburn last year? D-Line is decent but Arkansas,Miss State,South Carolina, and Alabama all have better D-Lines.

I mean if you really think so, Draconian, then we will just have to see. I'm not trying to bust your balls for supporting your team but if you take off the purple ang gold glasses, LSU just is a average to above average team this year. That's not bad though they will be 7-5 or 8-4

LSU had a better D-Line with Nevis. Yes one person can make a huge difference (Fairley). Big difference though is Sheppard. He was leader of that defense. Also one thing is that the defense struggled towards the end of season and I think it carries over into this season.

I guess i should rephrase. I didn't mean to say carry over as much as, the defense played more to level they should be at. They played above their heads alittle bit earlier in season. I just don't think alot of their defense. I mean Florida had one of worse offenses in league and they score 29 on you. LSU did finish 6th is SEC against run. With Nevis and Sheppard gone, I don't think they get better. They also got alot of turnovers, if they don't get those this year....?

LSU is the most overrated team in the country. They will lose the first game against Oregon badly. Chavis can't stop teams that run the ball out of spread and LSU doesn't have the defensive line to hold up. I say Oregon wins by 14. I just don't understand why people think they will be so good.Arkansas and Alabama are both better than the tigers. That's three losses plus they will lose two more between the games of:Miss st,Ole Miss,Tenn, and West Virginia. I think they go 7-5 if they are lucky.
Excellent bump!
