Not really. We didn't anoint ourselves the #1 team in the 08 preseason. The media did. We, the fans, didn't label it the Dream Team. The recruits and Richt did, and we just celebrated the idea. If a moral victory is a lone bright spot in a loss, then neither one of those would fit that billing. So we got excited over something that any fanbase, especially Tech, would get excited over. You can say that in hindsight that maybe the 08 pre-season thing was a moral victory, but even then you didn't and won't find a single UGA fan thumping their chests over how we were media darlings after a 3-loss season

Yeah, those weren't the best years to go. Alabama had Shula and was in a funk. It's more heated when both teams are doing well.

Your comparison would only have merit if Georgia was playing the same day and those folks went to tech instead. But they didn't, so it doesn't.
