Oh, and congrats on being the only SEC team to loose to Ohio State in a bowl game.

OSU is the auto-retort. I get it.

No the funny part is you want laugh at Jefferson for only throwing for 158 yards, but yet your QB with all his stats still threw a pick that cost you the game! So my question is what's funnier, only having 158 yards passing and 3 TD's and winning the game... or 300 plus yards and costing your team the game with a pick? Maybe I'm crazy but I'll take the sorry QB with the shitty stats who won!

By the way, I now hate you for makinig me come on here and defend Jefferson

Mallett got us to that game, and he kept us in that game. He went for 277 yards, 2 TD's, and 1 int against one of the nation's top defenses that gives up 156 pass yards a game. He played good enough to win. Dropped passes that were on the money, pathetic first half defense, and inability to scoop and score on special teams were bigger factors toward the loss, IMO.

I wouldn't trade Ryan Mallett and the season he led us to for JJ and a Cotton Bowl win in a thousand years. Cool Cotton Bowl trophy though. Houston Nutt got us one of those.

Yeah I know, you would rather have Ryan Mallett and a Sugar Bowl loss! Enjoy that

How many yards has that lead footed clown, Mallet, run for? Against anybody?

I'm the last person to defend JJ. However, he played good fotball overall against the Aggies. Had JJ played like that against the pigs, LSU would have won handily. They wouldn't have embarrassed the SEC and lost to OSU either.

BTW, the SEC's only loss in the Cotton Bowl in the last eight tries came from ... you guessed it - the Pigs. 38-7 to Missouri!

Negative yardage most likely. That knee he took vs. LSU killed his YPC that day for sure.

He actually wasn't bad. On 44 rushes, he got -133 rushing yards, -2.9 YPC, and 4 TD's. That's pretty legit.

Had this happened... had that happened... we all can say that about every game. Basically what you just said is if Jordan Jefferson could have played like a QB that he hadn't been all season (4 TD's over the season, 3 in the Cotton Bowl) then LSU would have beat Arkansas. I can say that if Joe Adams simply secures a catch on the the opening series of the Sugar Bowl, which isn't 1/1000000 of the stretch that your "what if" is, then Hogs would have won Sugar.

OSU is a top 5 team that is 23-3 the past two years, LSU is barely top 10 (should be ranked below Arkansas), and is 20-6 the past two years. OSU can beat Arkansas this year, LSU couldn't. What makes you so confident LSU beats OSU?

Mallett ran for as many TD's during the season as Jordan Jefferson threw for over the season (4).

Mallett's lowest total passing yards in a game where he did not go out early b/c of injury (Auburn, Ole Miss) was against UTEP. He threw for 215 yards, 5 TD's, and 0 Int's. Mallett threw for 300+ yards in 9/13 games this season. Jordan Jefferson has the night of his life, and hardly breaks 150!
Mallett lost; Jefferson won.

How you figure? I've checked the math on it countless times, and every time I do the calculation it comes out 31-23, where am I going wrong?

Are you talking about playing against A&M? They both won that one...

Are you talking about the Sugar Bowl? If you are, you're right Mallett lost that one. But JJ didn't play in the Sugar Bowl b/c his team wasn't good enough, due to the calculation I mentioned above. If you're team isn't even good enough to be in the Bowl, then they probably aren't good enough to win it either. So if we had to predict, we'd say it would have been a L for LSU too.

Both beat A&M, both did/would lose to OSU = tie
Arkansas beat LSU = tiebreaker = fairest way to determine strength of these two teams

Final poll=LSU moral victory

Seriously what's a higher ranking get you?

A yeah, a Cotton Bowl trophy, still doesn't erase 31-23 from the books.
