Does it have to do with technology and people being careless with info on the internet of is it just a meaner time and age?
I believe that is the primary cause of most of it. There's always plenty of hate between the 2 fan bases, but now the hatred seems to have gone to a new level, and it is probably because of the accessibility of information and ability to spread information.

We do hear about it more because of the technology, but when I was growing up I never heard anywhere near the allegations that each fan base throw around now. The amount of hate may not have changed but the blatant lies and innuendo is getting worse and worse all the time.
It used to be all about yearly bragging rights. Now, it just seems that one fanbase wants the other school to be wiped off the face of the earth.

Yes to the first question

Sounds like we all agree on the technology and the information available because of it makes it at least seem worse.
I think the anonymity of the internet may be the worst part of this instance.
The guy who posted the link to the booster's Facebook page was registered on here as a Bama fan.
Is he really a Bama fan or an Auburn alter?
It happened about 3/4's of the way down page 12.
The thread was just a bunch of kidding around until another Bama fan said the original picture of the guy with Ingram was from and Auburn fan's Photo Bucket page. This occurred on page 11.

I've said this for awhile.

Evolution of technology and society's obsession with the ability to obtain information instantaneously (not always a bad thing) has and will continue to increase the rate at which simple rumors grow into full blown scandals.

I'm curious, how did the old guy in the pics get the gloves worn by Mark Ingram and why would Ingram invite him and his family to his pad? Anyone care to speculate? I'm not throwing out accusations, just curious.

A really smart Bama guy already said it was, "Maslow's hierarchy of needs" and whatnot:
IMHO the gloves would fall under Esteem.

He gave them to him to the first query, and because he wanted to in relation to the second.
Or the guy paid lots and lots of cash and the Capstone is crumbling..

Maybe I should have asked the question different. Who do you have to blow in the alabama athletic department to get a pair of Nike pro combat gloves worn by the heisman trophy winner?
Does alabama auction off game used equipment? I figure those gloves are worth a shitpot full of money.

Oh. Well, I'm just an average American Joe and thought for sure it had to do with Mark et. al. needing some walking around money. I really need a graphics education, too.

Gloves are given away all the time. I've got several from when I was a kid... players run through the tunnel and toss their shat up to whoever is yelling for them. Him giving away a pair of gloves is no big deal.

I wouldn't jump to this conclusion. There could be several different scanarios, but gloves being thrown to the stands is probably not what ahppened in this case. But yes he could have got them in a NCAA Legal way. But him being a "friend" of his is probably how he got them.

Is any acquaintance of any player going to have "..." around em now?

Whereabouts do you place hostesses running their hands over your junk?

Well as of right now being that he is a booster and I highly doubt that Ingram knew him prior to coming to Bama, I would say "friend" would be used correctly. But I can change it to booster with no quotes if you like.
Wouldnt you say a booster going over to a players house for dinner is a bit suspcious? I mean it could be harmless, but it does also look somewhat shady
What would Bama folks be saying if they had Lowder saying he was headed over to Cam's house for dinner. There would be a 10 million page thread on BOL

You call him whatever makes you happy, bud. I just found it funny. Everyone is so damn paranoid these days.

Only shady to those that want it to be. If you want to think the worst, go ahead...but don't pretend like it's not your own wishful thinking trying to make it seem worse than it is.

Is this guy on BoT? Or is he just a random booster? We gonna act like Lowder at Cam Newton's house wouldn't be a hot topic? Bama fans weren't the only ones talking about Auburn last year. It was the whole nation. And coincidentally, its pretty much only the barners that actually recognize and respect that title you guys "won" last year.
As for Bama, whenever something...anything...breaks, it's Auburn and only Auburn that's pressing the issue. You guys are the most insecure "champions" of all time.
