Many writers suffer deep depression, and then alcoholism as a result I guess. Seems they aren't able to just lay some things down in life and walk away from them, i.e., trim the fat. They have a bushel of carrots they're always chasing, pressure put on them by themselves, and who can chase more than a few carrots and remain sane?
Some OCD I guess. Actually some putting of other gods before God in my humble opinion.
Set that crap down and walk away. It's not as important as they think.

Many writers don't care about material gain, and that's good. But they go too far in the other direction. Building monuments to themselves becomes their downfall.

You don't really know auNecks, bro. It was, and still is in many ways, a cow cult. They do breed with the cows and have had secret ceremonies in pastures, over the decades, which were designed and advertised as bovine/human orgiastic experiences.
They actually elected a cow to be Miss Auburn one season.
This cow was Miss Auburn for a whole season, true story. Later, she was found raped to death after being kidnapped and taken to Opelika.
The woman on the left, below, was the runner up in the Miss Auburn contest. In the included picture, you can see Bessie The Cow getting ready to prance in front of the student body. They got a good whiff of her and immediately voted her in as the winner.
Some really nasty things happen down there and always have. In the next image, you can see the crestfallen runner up asking one of Bessie's lovers what in the hell is going on and how auburn men could prefer Bessie over her.
