We have already found a reasonable realignment. Get out the map and put a circle of the group close to each other and it seems to be perfect match. Texas, Texas A&M, LSU, OU, Arkansas, Missouri, Ole Miss, MSU

Alabama, Auburn, Georgia, Florida, Kentucky, Vandy, South Carolina, Tennessee.
yeah, frick this. LSU would be playing in the SWC. And the entire other division besides USCe is original SEC members.

Hell no.

They are not going to keep all the rivalry games. It’s not possible.

Once again, they are not going to a system where you only see (for example) OU play in Athens about as often as Haley’s comet comes through.

Well, everybody has their opinion as to which games MUST BE kept.

Here’s the thing, there is no game that must be kept

We’re losing Bama, Auburn, and Florida. I don’t like it, but I understand the reasons.

Some people say DSOR is gone. Personally, I DON'T see how the SEC will agree to that.

Right...but these people also say IB, RRS, EB, etc. ARE being kept.
Hopefully we'll find out soon.

If there is 2 permanent rivals pet team,

We keep the barn and UF

I'm totally cool with those two being our every year opponents (both of those games are musts for UGA, barn and UF fans), a well as the SEC I would think.

If 2 rivals, Auburn's would be Bama and Georgia.

They wouldn't have to.

There won't be anything like 4 pods or 3 fixed opponents -- because that results in rotating 80% of all SEC matchups, which sacrifices too many high-value annual SEC rivalries -- a huge negative financial impact! Not gonna happen!

There'll be New 8-team East/West divisions, with AL & AU in the East and MO, OK & TX in the West. There'll be 9 SEC games; 7 intra-div + 2 of 8 cross-div rotating yearly (playing all 8 once within 4 years).

Obviously, you didn't bother to read my post carefully. In the SEC's new 2-division/9-game system, all 8 cross division opponents will be played within 4 years.

Which means next to nothing in the new SEC. This isn’t a parochial little conference anymore.

They aren’t doing a SWC + LSU and the Mississippi schools division

Many of you are stuck in old ways of thinking

It’s not about fair, the reality is that maximizing the different matchups is worth more than Auburn and Georgia playing every year. Nobody cares about that game outside the schools. Broadcasters want to be able to promote different types of game every week and every year. That’s much more interesting to the causal fan, who the conference is more focused on appealing to as they continue moving from a regional conference to a national one.

I understand many of you don’t like it, but it’s reality

There'll be 9 SEC games and these divisions:

SEC-East: AL AU FL GA KY SC TN VU

SEC-West: AR LSU OM MS MO OK TX A&M

The big revenues come from yearly rivalry games. The goal is more annual rivalries, not less. They won't be sacrificed for more rotational matchups. You may not like it, but it’s reality. LSU's annual games vs AL, FL & AU are comparably replaced with annuals vs OK, TX & MO. And, Bama's annual games vs LSU & A&M are replaced with annuals vs GA & FL.
