but since baseball is not a "revenue generating" sport, it was what it was

Someone can do the math to figure out how much money a person would have to earn to have this amount take home after taxes. $8 an hour, 40 hours a week, for a year equates to $16,640 before taxes. So the athlete is actually "paid" quite well, especially when you consider the other students who have these jobs the athlete "can't work" would have to work 40 hours a week every week of the year to make less than the athlete is "given". The athlete also has their school schedule work with and around their "work" schedule, while the other students can have conflicts between the two.

Let's be honest Dale would you be ok if those athletes paying college football decline the scholarship and housing. We eliminate that argument. What should be the value of compensation. Their is a big elephant in the room, most can't stomach the fact that major college football players, most whom are black, would make more money than them. Most of your argument makes no sense. Especially if you believe in free market.

Maybe in the Democratic People's Republic of North Korea. Here in the U.S.A. they each as much as they want.

100% false. You only get a full meal plan if you live on campus (Which means you get zero $.) What happens if you live on campus and get hungry at 10PM? You better hope your parents send you money, or you qualify for grants. The system is broken, but unionization is not the answer. Give the kids minimum wage for the hours they put in.

Huh?I f you live on campus you the full meal plan 3 meals 7 days a week and most schools have on campus sandwich shops where you're able to use your meal plan credits. Sorry,if you want a midnight snack you'll have to go to a vending machine but you should be able to fill up all want during dining hours.

Minimum wage? You're kidding right?I saw a caculation on the amount of hours FB players practices/played in week caculated out to the cost of a books, tuition, stipend, meal plan, etc
Came out to about $40.00 per hour tax free...not a bad part time gig in college.
