I feel the new coaching staff is doing a solid job in changing the attitudes and culture of the players.
QB- We are nowhere closer to finding our starter and most likely will come down to the new ones coming this summer.
RB- Cam Artis-Payne looks to be a Ben Tate clone with better moves in space and very excited about him. Tre Mason will be a big contributor. Cory Grant will take on the speed role that OMac had. Good possibility for two 1000 yd guys.
WR- Still a lot of work to be done, but a slight improvement and they are blocking again. I think they may be one of the biggest improvements by opening game. Hopeful at least.
TE/H/FB: Good solid group and TE's improving
OLine: This group is looking good and our two deep seems to be solid as well except at center. Bigger improvement over last year.
DL: Outside of Ford they didn't show a lot of confidence imo. I think the addition of some of the new guys will go a long way in helping us there. Remains to be seen overall improvement vs last year.
LB: Inconsistent but more talented. Not deep and a concern imo
Star: Garret and Therezie will be play makers and will be huge for our defense.
CB: Looks to be an improvement
S: Not deep and with D McNeal uncertain future we need big help from incoming players.
ST: They looked better in 2011. Did okay in 2012, they didn't leave a lot of confidence at A-Day Game.
QB will obviously be a key to how this season ends up. I feel if that position strengthens offense will score points. Defense is my worry and might put up a fight, but unless some of the new guys coming in give big help it will be a tough going. It will be an improvement over last year. Their tackling looked improved at A-Day.

Poxxxx says GFR asks: Who do you think will start at these two positions for USCe? Clowney is a beast. Can't wait to see him play again.
At QB it'll be Shaw but we'll see a lot of Dylan Thompson.
At RB it'll be Mike Davis but we'll see a lot of Brandon Wilds and Shon Carson.

QB - Improvement - With Bo having a season in the SEC in his résumé, he should be more effective and efficient next season
RB - Improvement - we still have Jeff Scott but will see more play from Mathers and possibly Jordan Wilkins, playing the role as our big back
WR - Improvement - Moncrief, Sanders, Logan, while adding Q. Mireles, Treadwell, and Adeboyejo
FB - Decline - Lose HR Greer which had some leadership and he could catch fairly well. Not too sure about his replacement
TE - Decline - we lost our starters and are replacing them with true Freshman. Granted this may end up better but since they have not proven themselves, I'll assume it's decline.
OL - Wash - lost some key seniors but had young starting talent behind them and also adding Tunsil and Golson
DL - Improvement - Kept our star linemen (CJ Johnson, Ward, Gross) and added RN, Lavon Hooks. Those guys are backed up by some talented Rotational guys.
LB - Improvement - Lost no-one and we get DT Shackleford back. Improvement based on the players actually improving in offseason
DB - Improvement - lost almost no one and with Senquez dropping baseball to focus on football, I see him getting much better. We also are getting Snoop Brassell back and adding Tony Connor. Prewitt and Elston return at safety and hopefully Elston can become disciplined and get over his freshman frick ups
ETA: Charles Sawyer is overrated
P/K - HUGE Improvement - We get Andrew Ritter and Tyler Campbell back to replace broadway (sucked dick) and Noble (not near as good as Ritter)

The LSU-OM match ups are sure to be very interesting in the coming years. If OM can keep this up, they will be pretty scary.
ETA: Is Bo a Junior this year?

Yes along with Moncrief and CJ Johnson

Ive got Ole Miss as a dark horse this season. They return a lot and as long as they can stay away from injuries they should be alright. I wouldnt be surprised if they pulled off an upset against Bama, LSU, or aTm to be completely honest.

Us Rebels are collectively thinking that we at least get one of those three and MAYBE two... If we beat all three then we have a natty in our future... But we are feeling pretty confident with this upcoming season

Y'all will need the entire Bama team to be hungover, running a fever, beer shits, and the flu, to beat them.
But seriously if Ole Miss keeps getting good recruits and Freeze can coach worth a damn, no more 4th and 1 and run a draw instead of a QB sneak, Ole Miss will be a contender in the future.

QB- Same
RB- slightly worse. I expect yeldon to be as good or better than lacy this year but do not expect Henry to be quite as good as freshman yeldon
OL- good, but not as good as last years
TE- better in the passing game, not as good in the running game
WR- better. An older cooper, a healthy Chris black, Norwood-jones-bell return and two big physical incoming freshmen make this a deep and dangerous group. Best corps in school history
DL- better. They are deep and athletic.
LB- about the same
DB- about the same. Great at safety and untested at corner. Vice versa from a year ago basically
K- worse. Shelley didnt miss a FG last year, they can only go down
P- better. Mandell has really improved

Trust me... We are well aware of this... The only advantage we have is Saban HATES the spread... Bama's advantage is... Everything else...

If Ole Miss can find a mismatch in Bama defensive personnel they could use the HUNH to exploit it. Bama's defense uses several packages for certain situations by putting skill players in those situations. But Im sure if I know that then Freeze and Co. and already well aware of it.

I was mad as hell because I was pulling for Ole Miss (I always pull for the underdog unless its AU or UT) and when he pulled that shite I almost lost it. Not to mention, aTm's defense had already shut down that EXACT play not long before.

I wanted to hit things... That one play is probably the biggest dark spot in CHF career... Not going for it... The damn play call. Granted hindsight is 20/20 but no one would say do a draw sweep with a speed back that has zero weight and power... Come on man
Posted on 4/25/13 at 12:10 pm to WhistlinDixie15
Or a simple QB sneak.

What about bama's corners???
Last year against LSU they only played two the whole game. When the tide went to nickle and dime coverages they went with three and four safties and two corners.
Were some of their backup corners hurt? Was that their normal extra DB package personell?
