Bowl ticket sales are low all across the country because the economy is in the shitter. This doesn't mean shite about the state of the MSU program. It means people simply don't have the extra money to go to bowl games. Unless of course it is only a few hours drive and you don't have to stay multiple nights. This isn't exclusive to State fans.
Didn't seem to effect OM fans.
Y'all's tickets are fricking 25 cents.

It's really not surprising. Ya'll haven't made a bowl since 09 so your fanbase is excited.
Our fanbase got excited early on and then we fell on our face so many fans aren't feeling a high level of excitement to go to the bowl game, thus driving down ticket prices due to high supply and low demand. Simple economics

I know, but that doesn't mean it isn't funny.
And it's not like we haven't been to a bowl on forever or anything. Cotton bowl was just 2 years ago you know, and was a lot better bowl.

The bowl committee will remember this simple idea of economics next time we are battling for a bowl ill assure you.

There will be 25-30k state fans at the Gator Bowl.
Why would we buy them through our athletics dept for $65 when we can get them on the secondary market for 1/10 that? If anything, our prices are being driven down by the lack of northwestern fans -- and an 80k plus seat stadium. I'm glad you are selling out a 55k seat stadium within 3 hours of 95% of your fanbase though.
This should be a nice little precaution for you while thinking about expanding ahead of demand.

We were never battling for a bowl with y'all. That was just the delusion and hope of OM fans.
We were battling with Vandy for a better bowl, and we got the better bid because we will still end up taking more fans than them.
A bowl can't justify taking a 6-6 team over an 8-4 team in the same conference no matter how you try and spin it. Also, does anyone have a link to which teams b/w MSU and Northwestern have sold more of their allotment? Could very well be NW is having a low turnout more than State.

That's what happens when you play Northwestern in Florida in an 80k seat stadium. There will be more state fans there than people realize. The ones that took advantage of the cheap seats.

The tickets are just as expensive through stub hub, and we're playing Pittsburgh in Alabama.
There are better ways to spin this than you are doing.

lulz I see the Blackbears are still jelly that we're in the Gator Bowl and they get stuck in the BBVVDDA Compass Papa Johns Pizzza Bowl.
State will have has many fans in Jacksonville as you will in Bham. Which is what 3 or 4 x's the distance?

It's the third straight year Pitt has played in this bowl. They will be lucky to bring 2-3 thousand.

this is the same guy that had been hiding out the past 2 and half years, after the 3 EB beat downs. Finally, his team wins the Super Bowl/storms the field in the process and he finally comes out of the closet.

Good for him. His parents needed to know.

Lets not rain on their parade to much.
They storm the field when they beat MSU.
That should tell you how bad it was in Oxford.
6-6 and Birmingham bowl is better then their couch...
