I suspect that the fans were exhausted by the hype of the game and Bama fans don't have much endurance.

Didn't Bama Offense told their fans to be quiet and so did the Bama defense because they call audibles also and need to hear?

i think it was fatigue and lack of big plays. it was a long day and while the crowd was in it early, as the night wore on the crowd died down. compounding this was the lack of big plays.
and that is not to say that it was quiet: it was loud as frick, but just not the loudest i had heard at the 20+ games i have attended there in the last 3 years.

Very good description 9th. I`ve been to probably 80 games in BDS since I was a little kid in the early 80s (first game ever at BDS was as a 6 year old in 1981). Legion Field games I grew up going to in the 80s and early 90s were the loudest. Legion Field is in an awful area in Bham but it was like a MUCH larger version of War Memorial Stadium (83,000 vs vs. under 60,000 in War Memorial Stadium) for Alabama fans. War Memorial despite being a lot smaller than the Reynold`s Razorback stadium appears to be louder. Legion afield was the same way due to Legion Field`s seating being MUCH steeper than BDS. As for the game last Saturday night, the complete lack of offense killed the atmosphere. If Alabama would have scored a TD at any point then it would have gotten 2005 Florida, 2003 Oklahoma, 1999 Miss state, etc loud.
