I agree. I just don't agree with your original statement that "Cam & Tebow would have been destroyed, if they played for AU & UF this year". They may not have won a championship but they would have been MUCH better teams with those respective players. GREAT QB's truly make that much difference. The Indianapolis went 75-21 from 2005 through 2010 with some shitty defenses. One guess why they went 2-14 last year?
Yeah, I guess "destroyed" was a bit much.

Urban's lack of recruiting.
Look at our pro day. No one came this year. It used to be the hot pro day.

Uh pretty sure we have 3 and you have 1, so yes we could still say that. Now if you are using Bama counting methods and you are using some obscure NC from 1893 then I stand corrected.

you can argue till you are blue in the face about the 1946 or whatever year it was title but the university and it's fans count 2 so we are 1 behind
ETA: using alabama methods we have 5

Tebow was their power run game and passing game. Once he left, they had neither because Meyer was so determined to recruit speed and stars over toughness and physicality.

I can see you hold it in high regard too, seeing that you don't even recall the exact year.

exactly. by himself Tebow was a successful offense in the SEC. power running, convert short third downs, limit turnovers. if any team can do this, they will be successful. but you gotta have a pretty stout defense. (unless you have Cam, who could just throw last second hail marys on the run as he falls out of bounds)

Go for it. Georgia was 11-0, won the SEC and Sugar and did win some 'Bamaish' titles. Georgia finished 3rd in the AP behind Army and ND who tied each other and NOBODY was going to win a "push" with either of those two in that era, even Alabama, who should have gotten a share of the 1945 title.

i knew i wasn't crazy
but yea, i could only imagine, hell the 80s and 40s were our decades. 2020s gonna kick some arse

'45 still pisses me off because of how Army pussied out. At the end of the season, both teams were 9-0 and the national press was BEGGING Army to accept a Sugar Bowl invite so Alabama and Army could play in something of a national title game. Army, however, decided to stay home from bowling, Alabama accepted the Rose Bowl invite instead of the Sugar Bowl, and Army won the national championship that year.
1. Army (9-0)
2. Navy (7-1-1)
3. Alabama (10-0)
Gee, I wonder why, in '45, those two service academies finished ahead of us.

Um,where I understand your frustration about '45,I'm not sure I'd use that verb to describe Army's decison considering the times and what had just taken place.

Spurrier and Tebnow are the only things that ever made Florida relevant in football. Now that those two are gone it will be a while until Florida gets back to the elite

Ya gotta make it past the SECCG first. When was your last SEC title, 2005? A year you lost to both Florida AND Auburn

So what about the NC we had before Spurrier? Sure, it was * but does that mean it was never won in the first place?

By that logic only Herchel Walker made UGA relevant... So I guess UGA is just screwed.
